Huron City Schools Volunteer Screener Process
Thank you for your interest in volunteering in Huron City Schools. Huron City Schools’ Board policy requires all school volunteers to complete a background screener prior to service. (Policy IICC)
The district has partnered with Background Investigation Bureau (BIB) to conduct online screener at no cost to the volunteer. The screener results are effective for three years (36 months). You will get an email notification prior to your expiration. CLICK HERE to get started.
Processing can take up to 5 business days. Once completed you will get an email notification from BIB. The school building offices will also receive notice of those approved to chaperone. Please plan to complete this process in advance of beginning your volunteer service.

The Board of Education believes one of the greatest resources available may be found in the citizens of the community who have special knowledge and talents to contribute to the District. Likewise, to keep our children safe, current and prospective volunteers who have or will have unsupervised access to children on a regular basis may be subject to a criminal record check (BCI).
