Announcements - Tuesday, 10/01/19
1. There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in swimming
and diving this evening at 7:30 in the Student Union. Students
and parents are encouraged to attend to receive an overview and
schedules.
2. Volunteer Opportunity: Huron PTO is looking for students to help pass
out Mums at Woodlands this Thursday, October 3rd from 4-7. Volunteers
will receive hours and become eligible for the PTO Scholarship. See Mrs.
Bender if you are interested.
3. Attention to any student who will be 18 and plans to vote on
Election Day this November 5. You must submit your Voter Registration
forms 30 days before the election. Please see Mrs. Merckens or Ms.
Kukay for Registration forms, and return them to room 214 by this
Friday, October 4.
4. Attention all Juniors going on the class trip: first payment and permission slips are due this week

Juniors and Sophomores sign-ups for the PSAT on October 16th are going
on now. There are a limited number of tests so please sign up
in the School counseling office as soon as possible. The cost is $17
and you can pay by check (made out to Huron High School) or cash.

Volunteer Opportunity: Huron Parks & Rec is looking for
volunteers for this year's Pumpkin Festival scheduled for Saturday,
October 12th. Stop in the Counseling Office for applications!
7.
Presale tickets for Friday's home football game vs Wilard are on sale
in the high school office. Presale is $5 with all tickets at the gate
costing $6.
8. For any Freshman interested in learning more about the Career
Explorations, program there will be a school counselor from EHOVE
visiting Tuesday, Oct. 8th during 4th period to provide information and
answer questions. Please stop into the Counseling office to sign up!
9. BGSU will be offering Financial Aid informational meetings which are open to all students and parents:

10. We have extra yearbooks from the 2019 school year for sale in the high school office. The cost is $65.
11. New scholarship added to Naviance: Buckeye Broadband BCSN Scholar of the Month
Seniors you still have time to apply for the Elks Student of the Month Scholarship. Stop into the Counseling office with questions.

Seniors be sure you are logging into your Naviance account when
applying to any college/university. If you use the Common App and you
need help matching it to Naviance, please stop into the Counseling
office. Using Naviance ensures all necessary documents (transcripts,
letters of recommendation, counselor forms, etc) are submitted
electronically and at one time.

15. Coming up at the Huron Public Library:
October
is Teen Celebration Month! In honor of this celebration. teens can
check out a new activity each week after school in the YA area of the
Library. The first week of October features board games and card games!
You
want to know more about the gaming opportunities at the Library? Game
Night tonight at 6pm. This Game Night session features
the award winning Betrayal at House on the Hill.
Euchre night is Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30pm.
