3. This month, in honor of Mental Health awareness month, the counselor will share with you all ways to promote mental health. The first week is all about - Mindfulness. Mindfulness is a way of being and thinking. When we are mindful, we focus our attention on what is happening in our body, our mind and in our environment in the moment. With mindfulness, we live in the present, focus on what is happening right now. Today, think about being present in the moment and being aware of your breathing. Being mindful helps us physically and emotionally & improves our mental well-being.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS/PHOTOGRAPHERS! Share your art on the Huron Public Library's Online Community Art Gallery on huronlibrary.org. View art and photography shared by your community, then share your own by emailing photos to [email protected]. All ages can participate.  Submissions may be considered for real gallery shows at the Library in the future.

The Library is partnering with the Huron Food Pantry until the end of May. If you have nonperishable food items to donate, drop them off in the box by the main entrance.

Join our weekly Instagram challenges in May for a chance to win some local gift cards. Find the Library on Instagram @huronlibrary. We will post a new photo challenge each Monday, designed by the Teen Library Council.

Catch a classic film streamed from the Library's Facebook page on Thursday, May 13 starting at 5 pm. This Thursday's movie is My Man Godfrey from 1936. A class satire in a class of its own, My Man Godfrey's screwball comedy is as sharp as the social commentary is biting. Chat with others during the film and learn some behind-the-scenes facts.

To find more information about programs and current services being offered at the Library, visit huronlibrary.org or follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
