W.I.S. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good morning today is Wednesday, April 19, 2023

There is a menu change today.

The lunch menu for today is: Students will have the choice of a Cheese Quesadilla or a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. You will also receive Refried Beans, Mandarin Oranges and Milk

Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge alive. Make sure you are journaling regularly, accepting others and doing kind acts. Make sure you recognize those students that do kind acts by completing a chain link for them.

Our value word for the week is: Citizenship -  the character of an individual viewed as a member of society; behavior in terms of the duties, obligations, and functions of a citizen.

President Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Americanism is a question of principles, of idealism, of character: it is not a matter of birthplace or creed or line of descent.”

Woodlands students respect others not only in their speech but also their actions. Students need to realize that their actions can show disrespect as well. When students tsk another person, roll their eyes, or smack their lips these are all signs of disrespect. Gestures like these are a sign of disrespect and a bad attitude. Let’s stay positive, and show respect at all times.

The lost and found is full.  If you are missing items please stop by the lost and found and claim the items that are yours. All the items hanging in the front entrance on the coat racks along with those in the lost and found bin are items in our lost and found. Please stop and look to see if any of the items are yours.

For any 6th graders interested in playing football next season, there will be a skills camp on Thursday 4/20 from 3:15-4:15 PM in the large grass area in front of Woodlands School.  Come meet your football coaches and some of the high school players as you start working on your football skills.

Today we begin our spring state testing in the building. Students are reminded that during testing they are not allowed to have communication devices on them.  This includes watches. If you have a phone or watch that has the ability to communicate it needs to be placed in your locker during testing. During the testing period bells will be turned off and student are expected to travel through the hallways quietly respecting those students that are taking their test.  This week we will be testing on Wednesday (5th and 6th Grade ELA Part 1) and Thursday (3rd and 4th Grade ELA Part 1).
