1.  Spruce up for winter break! On Monday, December 18, local stylists Teresa and Jalynn Brown, and barbers from the Sandusky Barber School are offering free fresh cuts at Huron High School for any interested student. Complete the Google Form on your Counseling Classroom to book an appointment. See Mrs. James or Mrs. Scherley with questions.

2.  Congratulations to Skyler Antonio for being selected as the Student of the Week:  According to his teachers, Skyler is engaged, participates often in class, and always offers an intelligent and thoughtful response to questions.  Great work Skylar!

3.  Thank you to all the Art students who submitted a yearbook cover.

It was a difficult decision but we'd like to say congratulations to TJ Murray. TJ's art will be featured on the cover of the  2023-24 yearbook!

And congratulations to Maya Vance!  Maya's art will be featured inside the 2023-24 yearbook!

4.  Reminder that Chemo Care packages are due this Friday, 12/15.  Please bring in new items to your 5th period class. The winning 5th period class will be given a reward after Christmas break.

5.  Woodlands and McCormicks ROX programs are having a coat drive that runs through December 18th.  Please consider donating gently used or new coats.  The donation box is located outside the high school office.

6.  Hello Huron High School students! TLC has put together a kindness project that involves spreading kindness throughout the school. This week there will be 20 rocks hidden around the school, each of which will have a Christmas design on them. Once we scatter them around the school, students are able to find them and take them into Mrs. Lee's room (room 216) to receive a bag of snacks. So, keep your eyes peeled this week and don't forget to spread kindness!

7.  Seniors - Turn in Community Service forms to the Main Office by the end of this semester (1/12/24) to be considered for a Graduation Seal or Diploma of Distinction. Forms are available outside the counseling office or in your 2024 Google Classroom.

8.  Are you looking for ways to earn community service?  Consider Project Happy!  NHS & Student council are encouraging as many Huron High School students as possible to participate in this program, sponsored by OHGO, and aims to brighten Christmas for local children in need.  If you're interested in filling a shoebox with small gifts for a local child, stop by the office or Mr. Blevins' room and grab a brochure which will provide easy and detailed directions.  You can also find directions for Project Happy on the OHGO website.  All boxes are due no later than Friday, 12/15.

9.  Huron competed at the A-Behr Classic Swim invite over the weekend.  The boys placed 2nd out of 11 teams and the girls placed 5th.  We had lots of great times today and some PR's.  Carter Schlessman finished 1st in the 50 free and 100 free.  Jason Lenczyk finished 1st in the 500 free and 3rd in backstroke.  All 3 boys relays placed 2nd.   Nick Rager finished 3rd in the 200IM.   For the girls Karlee Kurtz placed 1st in the 500 free and 2nd in the 200 free.  Madelyn Porterfield placed 3rd in breaststroke.

10.  Students please do not use the stairwell in the Tiger Union today.
