1.  Anyone interested in volunteering for Huron Rotary’s Trunk or Treat TONIGHT at Fabens Park, please arrive no later than 4:45pm. Feel free to dress up in costume. You'll be finished at 7:00pm. Email Dr. McDonald with questions ([email protected].us).

2.  Purchases from Domino's today will support the PTO, who directly fund numerous programs for the students of Huron.  Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help spread the word to raise some "Dough." 

3.  Attention all students and staff: TLC's gently used clothing drive is under way through November 18. Bring items to your 5th period class. Weekly prizes will be awarded to top classes! Thank you for being willing to help those in your community who are less fortunate.

4.  Student Council is starting a Spirit Week starting tomorrow!
Tomorrow's theme is Halloween colors
Thursday is Halloween socks or hats
Friday is class colors:  Seniors wear white, juniors wear black, sophomores wear gray and freshmen wear red

5.  If you are interested in bowling, a sign-up sheet is located in the high school office.  The first practice will be November 2nd.  

6.  Boys basketball tryouts for grades 9-12 will start Monday, October 31st, from 5-7pm.  Any questions, please see Coach James

7.  Any 9th & 10th grade girl interested in participating in ROX, Ruling Our Experience, please contact Ms. Taraschke or see Ms. Pisano in the counseling office. ROX will begin the first week of November so please contact the counseling office by Oct. 28.

8.  Community service opportunity:  The Huron Eagles will be having their annual feather party November 12th from 1-6pm.  This is a Thanksgiving dinner for members and their guests.  We are looking for help to seat people, serve food and bus tables.

Anyone interested in volunteering or have any questions please contact Jeff Widman at 419-357-1683.

9.  St. Peter Spooktacular 5K & Kids Pumpkin Fun Run will take place this Saturday at a.m. Volunteers are needed to help with the race. All work will be done before noon.   There are a limited number of shirts available for volunteering.  Contact Angie Edwards 419-366-1563 (call/text) to volunteer.  Service hours will be given for this opportunity.

10.  Kelsey Hammond, Huron's BGSU advisor, will be here on Monday, November 7, and Tuesday, November 8. Students who need to register for an OFF-CAMPUS or ONLINE class through BGSU for the Spring of 23 can set up an advising appointment with her, using the form on Mrs. James's Google Classroom. 

11.  The following colleges are scheduled to come visit Huron High School:

Oct. 26 University of Southern Maine (zoom 1-1:45)
Nov. 1 Baldwin Wallace
Nov. 3 Owens Community College
Nov. 9  Youngstown State

All times are at 10 - 10:45 unless otherwise noted. Please sign up in the school counseling office if you are interested in learning more about these schools.

12.  Huron Public Library Teen Announcements for Week of Sunday, October 23

Check out TEENtober at the Huron Public Library! TEENtober is a nationwide celebration of tween and teen programs at the Library. Stop by this week to play the Library's Wii games!

The Library has a NEW Teen Tech Cart filled with cool tech like iPads and Chromebooks for teens in Grades 7 - 12 to borrow. Stop by after school on Wednesday, October 26 any time between 3 - 4:30 pm to try out some new tech like Spheros, Bloxels, digital instruments, sticker-makers, and more! This program will also feature the Library's button-making machine. Come hang out and make some free buttons!

Everyone is welcome to join local chess enthusiast Paul Sherwood for Chess at the Library this Saturday, October 29 starting at 10 am. Come for fun or to improve your game. This program is open to all ages and abilities
