WIS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good morning today is Thursday, February 18, 2021

The lunch menu for today is: Students will have the choice of Chicken Nuggets or Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. You will also receive Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Buttered Biscuit, Pineapple and Oranges and Milk.

Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge alive. Make sure you are journaling regularly, accepting others and doing kind acts. Make sure you recognize those students that do kind acts by completing a chain link for them. KCR-24/7-365

Our value word for the week is: Self-Control -  control over your feelings or actions

John Wooden once said, “If you lose self-control everything will fall.”

If you win or do well at something, do not brag. If you lose, or do poorly at something do not show anger. Instead Woodlands Students say something like, “I really enjoyed the competition, and I look forward to playing against you again,” or “Good Game,” or don’t say anything at all. To show anger or sarcasm, such as “I wasn’t playing hard anyway. You really aren’t that good,” shows weakness. Woodlands Students always treat each other with respect. Remember if you do not have something nice to say then don’t say anything at all.

If you have borrowed a Chromebook charging cord please make sure it gets returned. We have extra charging cords in the office for students that need to use them during the school day. After you are finished charging your chromebook please make sure it gets returned as there are other students that will need to use it.

From the Huron Public Library

CALLING ALL ARTISTS/PHOTOGRAPHERS: The Library wants YOU to share your artwork or photography in our Online Community Art Gallery. Visit the Library's virtual Gallery space on huronlibrary.org to view art and photography shared by your community, then share your own by emailing photos to [email protected]. All ages can participate.

Help out your community by donating food to those in need. The Library is collecting nonperishable, unexpired food items for our Pay It Forward Food Drive to give to the Huron Food Pantry. If you have food items at home that you'd like to donate, visit the Library and find our drop off box located near the entrance.

The Teen Library Council is seeking teens in Grades 7 - 12 with ideas for Library programs, way to improve the Library for teens, or ideas to improve your community. If you've got ideas- we want to hear them! Join the discussion at the next TLC meeting on Monday, February 22 at 4 pm on Zoom.

If you prefer discussing books, join the Rockin' Readers Book Club. Each month, Grades 3 - 6 meet in a Zoom meeting to discuss a great tween book! Pick up your book at the Library and then join in on the next meeting in March! For those that have already read this month's book, the next meeting is Thursday, February 25 at 5 pm. See you there!

Are you a Pokémon expert? Check out the Library's Pokémon display and see if you can find our Poké Stop on Saturday, February 27 for National Pokémon Day. Then show your love for all things Pokémon by sharing what you know on social media. Don't forget to use some of these tags so we can see and share: #PokemonDay #Pokemon #Pokestop #huronlibrary #huronpubliclibrary
