Announcements - Tuesday, 3/5/19
1. Attention Senior Girls: The Huron Police Department will be hosting a
self defense class on Thursday, March 14th, from 2:45 to 4:15 in the
multi-purpose room. Please sign-up in the office. If you have any
questions, contact Officer Lobsinger.
2. HHS Students, TLC needs your help! Do you or your family drink pop or any other drink from a can? If so, great! We are collecting the tab on the top of those cans. When collected, they will go to the Ronald McDonald houses of Akron and Cleveland to support all that they do for families of sick children in the hospital. A prize will be awarded to the winning classroom of the March Madness Pop Tab Collection, so make sure to bring in as many as you can! Thank you in advance from TLC!
3. Help
wanted! We are looking for a student that would like to tutor a junior
high student struggling with organization and study skills. You will
need to be at McCormick by 2:00-2:30. You will earn community service
hours. See Ms. Ryan for details.

Winter athletes if you'd like to keep your locker decorations please
take them down by the end of the school day on Friday. Those left
hanging will be disposed of by the custodians.
5. There
will be a parent informational meeting for all those interested in
cheer tryouts. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 7th, at 7pm
in the Tiger Union. This meeting is for parents of interested cheer
candidates.

Cheer tryouts for football will be held Monday, March 11 - Wednesday,
March 13 in the Huron High School gymnasium. If you do not have a
tryout packet, please pick one up in the attendance office. All forms
must be completed prior to the first day of tryouts.
7. Reminder to students that CCP Intent to Participate forms are due in the Counseling office no later than March 21st.
8. Attention seniors - Once you have decided which college you are attending, please update Naviance under > Colleges I am applying to > and fill in > College I am Attending. Please see the Counseling office with questions.

School Students
The Huron Tiger Core Value for the month of March is
Optimism. Choose optimism this month and spread
positivity throughout HHS! Who knows,
you could be the top nominee chosen by HHS staff members and receive a
family-pack of Cedar Point Tickets just for being optimistic.
10. On Wednesday the cafeteria will be offering something new and
exciting - Fresh, hot Domino's pizza. Come and enjoy a slice or two
for lunch.
11. Interested in playing some games? The Huron Public Library has some
great options for you. The Library will be hosting a Chess Tournament on
Saturday, March 9. For more details, visit the HPL website. Tuesday,
March 5 is Game Night at the Library. This session
features the game Unstable Unicorns and play begins at 6 pm.
On Friday, March 8, is the first meeting of the Teen Library Council
for the Spring Quarter. If you are in 7th through 12th grade, and you
have great ideas, join this group that meets monthly to discuss
materials, programs, and new ideas for teens at the Library!
12. Lunch today is broccoli/rice/cheese casserole or a chicken quesadilla.
