ANNOUNCEMENTS - WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2016
1. Baseball open field at Woodlands tonight from 4-5:15pm. This is for all players who are not participating in a Fall sport.
2. Attention all academic challenge team members. There is a mandatory organizational meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in Mr. Blevins' room. Please make every effort to attend. If you have a conflict, see Mr. Blevins today in school.
3. Attention students interested in Model United Nations: There will be a brief meeting in room 206 this Thursday. Students will select nations. See Mrs. Merckens with any questions.
4. The yearbook club will have its first meeting on Monday, Sept. 12,
right after school in room 99. If you are interested in being involved,
you must either show up at the meeting or see Mrs. Lee sometime before
the meeting.
5. ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP – Several four-year scholarships available to high
school seniors with leadership qualities and financial need. For more information and to apply,
visit enf.elks.org/mvs. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS NOVEMBER 30, 2016.
Other scholarships available to Seniors:
The "Elks Student of the Month" applications are available in the guidance office. If selected as a student of the month, you will not only be entered into the local scholarship competition but also have your bio in the Sandusky
Register and be invited to a scholarship dinner in May. There are
numerous scholarship opportunities available so don't hesitate to apply!
Applications are due by Friday, September 30th.
AES ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP – Scholarship award of $500 available to graduating
seniors to help in the furthering of their education. Criteria is based on character and determined by an
evaluation of a required essay.

THE PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS PROGRAM – Several awards and recognition opportunities for
any high school students who have been making a difference through volunteering
in their community. Interested
students are to fill out an online application at http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit. Stop into the Guidance Office for more

scholarship awards available to students with at least a 2.0 GPA who have

6. Attention all Seniors: Ohio Wesleyan University will be visiting on Monday, September 12th at 9:00
in the Tiger Union. All interested students should come to the
Guidance office to sign up to to meet with their admissions
representative. You will be given a Tiger Union Pass on the day of
their visit.
7.
Ripcho Studio will be here on Monday, September 12th, to take pictures
of our faculty and underclassmen (9-11 grades). Please remember to
bring your picture form with you on Monday, filled out and with payment enclosed. Stop in the office with any questions. Forms should be handed out in homeroom today.
8. Lunch today is bosco pizza sticks. The salad bar will also be an option starting today.
