HURON HIGH SCHOOL
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2015

1.  The girls and boys swim teams traveled to Norwalk last night for a dual meet with the Truckers. The girls were victorious by a score of 95-73 while the boys won 109-58. First place finishers were for the Tigers were: Hannah Blackwell, Anna Martello, Morgan Morey, Emma Steinmetz, Emma Golling, Melissa Wirtz, Derek Griffin, Elijah Hart, Nick Swope and Bennett Arthur. The swimmers invite you to cheer them on tonight at the Sandusky High School natatorium vs the Blue Streaks at 5:00.

2.  TLC will be hosting "Operation Troops".  The goal is to bring in basic necessities and snacks such as hard candy, gum, crackers, granola bars, beef jerky, cards/card games/ journals, pens, toiletries, pocket kleenexes, chapstick and hand warmers.  This drive starts Monday, December 7th and ends Friday, December 11th.  Bring items to your first period class.  The first period with the most items will win fresh baked cookies and hot cocoa.  All proceeds go to help the troops. All donations would be appreciated!

3.  Honor roll students from 1st quarter:  State Representative Steven Arndt's office has sent us certificates recognizing high school honor roll students.  If you would like your copy, please stop into the high school office.

4.  Attention all sophomores or juniors interested in attending EHOVE next year.  The application period is going on now!  If you are considering, please go to www.EHOVE.net and click on "now it is time to apply" and fill out the quick application.  Mrs. Fahr will send over your transcript at the end of the semester to complete your file.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Fahr in the Guidance office.

5.  Attention all Seniors applying for the Elks Scholarship:  There will be an Elks representative here to pick up scholarships Friday morning Dec. 4th, if you have not already turned it into an Elks Lodge location.  Please drop off your Elks scholarships by Friday morning into the Guidance office if you would like them to be picked up.

6.  New scholarship: 

ZINGGIA OHIO ART SCHOLARSHIP – Award of $2,000 available to high school seniors wishing to pursue a career in illustration, graphic design, photography, or any art related program.  Stop into the Guidance office for more information.  DEADLINE IS MARCH 5, 2016.


7.  Seniors, Jostens will be back for one final time to take orders for graduation supplies (caps & gowns, announcements, etc) on Thursday, December 10, during lunches.  You should be receiving a post card in the mail from Jostens if you have not yet placed an order.

8.  Huron Rotary would like to meet our Seniors at their luncheons on Tuesdays.  If you would like to attend, please pick up a form in the high school office.  Once the form is completed and turned back into the office we will schedule a time for you to go.  Please ask a friend to partner up with you as we like to send a couple at a time.

9.  Lunch today is General Tso chicken or the salad bar.
