HURON HIGH SCHOOL
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2015

1.  The NHS will be sponsoring a food drive all this week.  The first period class who brings in the most food will receive a bagel breakfast from the National Honor Society.

2.  North Central State College will be visiting today during lunch.  Stop by their table to learn what they have to offer.

3.  News from the Huron Public Library:

 -  Food for Fines is this week at the Huron Public Library. Bring in one food item with each overdue item, and we will take the fine off of your card. This may also apply for old fines.  Contact the Library for further details at (419)433-5009

- Tuesday Game Night every week at the Huron Public Library from 6 - 8 pm. Registration required. (419)433-5009

- Craft Corner for grades 3 and older is this Thursday, November 19 at 4:30 pm. Register to come and transform a magazine into a bowl! (419)433-5009

 - The Teen Library Council for grades 7 - 12 will meet this Sunday, November 22 at 2 pm. We will be making ornaments and assigning jobs for the upcoming Open House on Saturday, December 5. Everyone needs to bring a clean, dry plastic pop bottle (any size less than 2 liters).

4.  On November 24, there will be a student/staff basketball game.  If any student (currently not participating in winter sports) would like to participate in the game, there will be a sign up sheet in the cafeteria this week.

5.  New scholarship opportunity: 

AMERICA’S FARMERS GROW AG LEADERS – Scholarship award of $1,500 available to students pursuing agriculture related degrees.  Applicants do not have to be FFA members, but need three farmer endorsements of their application.  Please stop into the Guidance office for more information.  Applications will be accepted NOVEMBER 15, 2015 – FEBRUARY 1, 2016 at FFA.org/scholarships.

6.  Attention:  All students applying to a college/university must complete and return the College Tracking Form into the Guidance office at least TWO weeks before their college application deadlines are due. 

Note:  Transcripts and other information requested require at least TWO weeks for processing before they can be sent to the college of choice.  Anything submitted to Guidance short of two weeks will not be guaranteed to reach your college/university deadline.

7.  Seniors:  Huron Rotary would like to meet you at their luncheons on Tuesdays.  If you would like to attend, please pick up a form in the high school office.  Once the form is completed and turned back into the office we will schedule a time for you to go.  We normally like to send two at a time so you may want to partner up with a friend.

8.  The Huron Interact Club is an International Service organization of 13-18 year olds sponsored by the Huron Rotary Club.  To fund their first International project, the Huron Interact Club will be holding a spaghetti dinner and raffle on November 22nd from 6-7:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church.  Dinner tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. 

9.  Lunch today is a bacon cheeseburger or a cold cut sub.
