HURON HIGH SCHOOL
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2015

1.  If you are giving blood for NHS today, please wait in your class until you receive your pass.

2.  The wrestlers opened their season last night with a pair of tough losses.  However, winning for the Tigers were:  Isaiah Gonzales and Devon Shaffer picked up a win.  Luke Larson, Tommy King and Jake Ortman each had 2 wins. 

The boys & girls bowling team were at Fremont Ross last night.  The boys won by 500 pins and the girls won by 300 pins.  Leading the way for the boys were Jared Ochs 446, Brian Gosser 373, and Nick Stutzman 340.  The girls were led by Jordan Prosser's 386, Aubrey Baumler 287 and Erin Kleinhans and Rachel Stadler 242.  Congratulations bowlers!

3.  Reminder that girls track winter conditioning begins after school today.

4.  A representative from the ROTC program at George Washington University will be here doing a lunchroom visit today.  Stop by the table and see what they might have to interest you!

5Friday we have an early dismissal of 1:25pm for Christmas break.  Please be aware of the time changes.  Schedules are available in the high school office.

6.   New scholarship opportunity: 
ERIE COUNTY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP – Award of $750 available to high school seniors residing in Erie County and enrolled as a full-time student in an Agricultural related field.  Parents or student must be a member of the Erie County Farm Bureau.  More information is available in the Guidance office.  DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MARCH 15, 2016.

7.  There will be a brief meeting in room 104 after school today for anyone interested in playing baseball this season.  See Coach Hohler if you have any questions.


8.  This is a reminder to all CCP Participants taking classes on the BGSU Firelands campus or on-line:

You must return all textbooks, including work books, CD’s etc., to the BGSU Firelands bookstore located on the 1st floor of Foundation Hall no later than 5:00 pm on the last day of finals(December 18th)!

1.      Bring ID and identify yourself as a CCP participant.

2.      Do not accept money for the books.

3.      NO EXCEPTIONS!

Your high school may charge full retail price plus tax for any materials not returned by the December 18th deadline. The charges must be paid to your school district.

Books can be returned the week of:

December 14th – December 18th

Spring 2016 Books

Book Vouchers for the Spring 2016 Semester will be available for pick-up starting Monday, January 4th. Please check your BGSU email for more information in the upcoming weeks.

9.  Attention all students who took the PSAT: Scores will be accessible beginning January 7th at www.studentscores.collegeboard.org.  Mrs. Fahr will receive your paper scores in late January.  She will be meeting with you in February to go over scores. 

10.  Huron Rotary would like to meet our Seniors at their luncheons on Tuesdays.  If you would like to attend, please pick up a form in the high school office.  Once the form is completed and turned back into the office we will schedule a time for you to go.  Please ask a friend to partner up with you as we like to send a couple at a time.

11.  Lunch today is pizza or a turkey wrap.  Just a reminder that there is no salad bar.
