HURON HIGH SCHOOL
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2015

1.  Congratulations to Shane Thatcher for his 13th place finish in the Regional Cross Country Championship race on Saturday.  His place at regionals qualifies him to compete at the State Cross Country Championships next Saturday.  Shane ran a new personal record of 16:25 and earned a place in the Huron record books with the 10th fastest time ever by any senior.  The boys D2 state race will be held next Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.
The girls cross country team ended up finishing 8th on Saturday as their season unfortunately came to an end.  When you consider that 64 teams competed to earn the right to run at Regionals, the girls should be proud of their accomplishments this year.  More importantly, not a single varsity runner graduates from the team so we look forward to more success in future.

The top finisher on Saturday was Grace Moser, finishing 26th.  Grace was the first freshman of any school to cross the finish line in her race.  Hunter Garbe ran a personal record on Saturday and also ran her way into the cross country record books, running the 10th fastest time ever by a Huron freshman.
