HURON HIGH SCHOOL
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2015
1.  Attention Art Club Members: There will be an Art Club meeting today and tomorrow at 2:30.

2. 
There will be a meeting today after school in the cafeteria for anyone interested in playing softball. 

3.  There will be a junior class representative meeting in Mr. Schaeffer's room after school
today.

4.  There will a Halloween Costume contest on Thursday, 10/29 here at HHS.  The categories are funniest, scariest, most original, best group and best teacher impersonation.  Prizes will be handed out to the winners - decided by the teachers throughout the day.

5.  OSU ALUMNI SCHOLARS PROGRAM – Several merit-based scholarships ranging from $600 - $1,000 available to high school seniors ranking in the top 10% of their graduating class, demonstrating outstanding involvement in school and community activities, and has a sound interest and positive attitude toward college work.  More information is available in the Guidance office and an application can be found at www.apply.osu.edu
DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 6, 2016


BGSU SCIENCE and MATH EDUCATION in ACTION – Scholarships are available for high school seniors considering careers in teaching science and/or mathematics.  Incoming freshman with a minimum GPA of 3.0, recommended minimum ACT of 23, and interest in a career teaching science and/or math will be considered.  For more details visit www.bgsu.edu/action.  More information is available in the Guidance office.  DEADLINE IS JANUARY 15, 2016.

New Community Service Opportunity:   Big Brothers, Big Sisters is looking for 5-10 high school students to run children's activities from 10:30am-1pm on Saturday, November 21st at Sawmill Creek Resort.  See Mrs. Bender for more details or to sign up.

Reminder: Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home is looking for volunteers to help with their Haunted Ghost Town Trick or Treat Thursday, Oct. 29th from 6:30 pm - 8 pm.  Please arrive at least a half hour early and plan on staying the entire time.

7.  Seniors:  Huron Rotary would like to meet you at their luncheons on Tuesdays.  If you would like to attend, please pick up a form in the high school office.  Once the form is completed and turned back into the office we will schedule a time for you to go.  We normally like to send two at a time so you may want to partner up with a friend.

8.  The Huron Interact Club is an International Service organization of 13-18 year olds sponsored by the Huron Rotary Club.  To fund their first International project, the Huron Interact Club will be holding a spaghetti dinner and raffle on November 22nd from 6-7:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church.  Dinner tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. 

9.  Attention all students who are taking a Bowling Green class 2nd semester at Firelands or HHS but are not currently taking one this Fall:  You must RE-APPLY to BGSU Firelands on their website.  You will not be able to take a Spring College Credit Plus Course if you do not re-apply.  Your deadline for all applications is Friday, Nov. 13th.

10.  Lunch today is bacon cheeseburger or a buffalo chicken wrap.
