1. Congratulations

An Open House will be held on Thursday, November 12th, at EHOVE Career
Center from 4-7pm. A free pasta dinner will be served. Students and
parents are invited to find out more about the career tech programs
available at EHOVE.
3. Fall athletes are reminded to remove their locker decoration by Friday if you wanted to save that. Otherwise they will be disposed of by the custodians.
4. New Scholarships in the guidance office:
BGSU DATA SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP – Several $5,000 scholarships available to incoming
students that have chosen to major in Data Science. To learn more about the emerging demand for data scientists

Guidance office.
AMERICAN MUNICIPAL POWER – In memory of Lyle B. Wright and Richard H.
Gorsuch, distinguished leaders in public power history, AMP is offering several
$2,000 awards to high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better, a passing
score on the public power test, and have met all of the basic requirements for
college or technical school entrance. More information is available in the
Guidance office. Scholarship
nomination forms must be submitted to AMP by municipal utilities on or before DECEMBER 11, 2015.
OHIO JCI SENATE FOUNDATION – Scholarship award of $1,000 for first place and
$500.00 for second place in the Academic Based and Need Based categories. Also, the first and second place in the
Academic Based will be submitted to the US JCI Senate Foundation for their
scholarship program. Please stop into the Guidance office for more information. DEADLINE
IS JANUARY 18, 2016.
CHRIS G. PERRIN SCHOLARSHIP FUND – Scholarship award of $1,000 available to highly
motivated students of good character residing in Erie County with solid career
goals and interests. More
information is available in the Guidance office. DEADLINE IS APRIL 6,
2015 5. We are holding a Cavs/Monsters toy drive at HHS THIS WEEK (Nov. 9th-13th)!!
It will be a friendly competition for a great cause. The 5th period
class who donates the most toys will win a Hot Chocolate and Cookie
treat for Friday, November 20th.
Toys do not need to be expensive, but must be NEW and UNWRAPPED. We
will come around to count and collect donations daily. Please
encourage your 5th period to donate to children in need! Let's show
them Huron has Holiday Spirit!
6. Attention: All students applying to a
college/university must complete and return the College Tracking Form into the
Guidance office at least TWO weeks before their college
application deadlines are due.
Note: Transcripts and other information
requested require at least TWO weeks for processing before they
can be sent to the college of choice.
Anything submitted to Guidance short of two weeks will not be guaranteed to
reach your college/university deadline.
7. Community Service Opportunity: The Ohio Veterans Home is hosting a pre-game pep rally for their residents before the U of M/OSU football game on Nov. 21st from 9am-12pm
and they are in need of volunteers! Contact the Erie County Volunteer
Center for more information or see the poster on the bulletin board
outside of the HHS Main Office. Big Brothers, Big Sisters is looking for
5-10 high school students to run children's activities from 10:30am-1pm on Saturday, November 21st at Sawmill Creek Resort. See Mrs. Bender for more details or to sign up.

Seniors: Huron Rotary would like to meet you at their luncheons on
Tuesdays. If you would like to attend, please pick up a form in the
high school office. Once the form is completed and turned back into the
office we will schedule a time for you to go. We normally like to send two
at a time so you may want to partner up with a friend.
9.
The Huron Interact Club is an International Service organization of
13-18 year olds sponsored by the Huron Rotary Club. To fund their first
International project, the Huron Interact Club will be holding a
spaghetti dinner and raffle on November 22nd from 6-7:30pm
at the First Presbyterian Church. Dinner tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children.
10. Attention
all students who are taking a Bowling Green class 2nd semester at
Firelands or HHS but are not currently taking one this Fall: You must
RE-APPLY to BGSU Firelands on their website. You will not be able to
take a Spring College Credit Plus Course if you do not re-apply. Your
deadline for all applications is Friday, Nov. 13th.
All College Credit Plus Students: You may begin registering for Spring CCP classes at BGSU Firelands THIS FRIDAY, NOV. 6th.
This is only for students who are planning to take classes at Firelands
during the Spring semester. Once you register, please remember to
bring in a copy of your BG schedule to Mrs. Fahr in the Guidance Office
and have a meeting with her to adjust your HHS schedule and to check
your credits.
