1. Run the 4th race in Huron's "We Run This Town" race series on Saturday, October 26th. St Peter School Spooktacular 5K registrations can be picked up in the office or from Mrs. James.

2. There will be basketball cheer tryouts for those interested on Tuesday, October 29th through Thursday, October 31st. Tryouts will be held at Shawnee Elementary. Cheer packets are available for pick up in the office. All forms must be completed prior to tryouts.

3. Student Council will be taking Treat Bag orders this week during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The cost for each bag is $1, and they will be delivered on Oct. 31st. Order them for your friends, staff members, or yourself.

4. Academic Challenge members will meet in Mrs. Rowen's room today during 8th grade lunch. 7th grade members should sign out of study hall first.

5. Power of the Pen will meet Friday during lunch/study hall.

6. Woodlands garden cleanup is this Wednesday 3:45-5pm. Garden supplies and community service hours are available. Please bring a pumpkin donation.

7. October's core value is consistency. If you always put forth your best effort and are reliable, you could be this month's nominee!

8. This week at the Huron Public Library:
October is Teen Celebration Month at the Huron Public Library! In honor of this celebration, teens can check out a new activity each week after school in the YA area. The fourth week of October features Teen Volunteer Opportunities. If you need volunteer hours, or if you are just interested in helping in your community, stop by the Library this week for more information.

Rockin' Readers Book Club meets this Wednesday night on October 23. Join this monthly book group for grades 4 - 6 to meet fellow readers and to discuss some great books! Visit our website for more details.

Reminder: The next meeting for the Girls Who Code Coding Club is Thursday, October 24 from 4 - 5:30 pm.

If you like graphic novels or Halloween, come to the Library on Saturday October 26 for Halloween ComicFest. We'll be giving away free comic books all day starting at 10 am and going until we run out! You can get a special treat if you show up in full costume! No registration required.

As temperatures begin to drop, the Library can be a warm place to spend time. Stop by and play some Chess on Sunday, October 27 from 1 - 4 pm. You can learn how to play or just play with a chess master to hone your skills. All ages are welcome.
