1. Run the 4th race in Huron's "We Run This Town" race series this Saturday. The St. Peter School Spooktacular 5K registrations can be picked up in the office or from Mrs. James.

2. There will be basketball cheer tryouts for those interested on Tuesday, October 29th through Thursday, October 31st. Tryouts will be held at Shawnee Elementary. Cheer packets are available for pick up in the office. All forms must be completed prior to tryouts.

3. 7th Grade Girls Basketball tryouts will be Tuesday, October 29th from 7-8pm at the High School and Friday, November 1st from 3-4pm at McCormick.

4. 8th Grade Girls Basketball tryouts will be Tuesday, October 29th from 7-8:30pm at the High School and Monday, November 4th & Tuesday, November 5th from 5:45-7:15pm at McCormick.

5. Student Council will be taking Treat Bag orders this week during lunch today through Friday. The cost for each bag is $1, and they will be delivered on Oct. 31st. Order them for your friends, staff members, or yourself.

6. At the end of announcements, would the following students report to Mrs. Rowen's room:

7. Power of the Pen will meet Friday during lunch/study hall.

8. There will be a meeting in the auditorium at 2:30pm today for boys interested in playing basketball. Please wait for the announcement to be called to the auditorium.

9. STEAM Club is meeting today!
Come to Mr. Haplea's room after school until 4:15 for some fun art and science projects!

10. October's core value is consistency. If you always put forth your best effort and are reliable, you could be this month's nominee!

11. This week at the Huron Public Library:
October is Teen Celebration Month at the Huron Public Library! In honor of this celebration, teens can check out a new activity each week after school in the YA area. The fourth week of October features Teen Volunteer Opportunities. If you need volunteer hours, or if you are just interested in helping in your community, stop by the Library this week for more information.

The next meeting for the Girls Who Code Coding Club is today from 4 - 5:30 pm.

If you like graphic novels or Halloween, come to the Library on Saturday, October 26th for Halloween ComicFest. We'll be giving away free comic books all day starting at 10 am and going until we run out! You can get a special treat if you show up in full costume! No registration required.

As temperatures begin to drop, the Library can be a warm place to spend time. Stop by and play some Chess on Sunday, October 27th from 1 - 4pm. You can learn how to play or just play with a chess master to hone your skills. All ages are welcome.
