Announcements - Tuesday, 9/17/19

1.  The Superintendent's Student Cabinet is seeking new members for the 19-20 school year.  Student Cabinet meets monthly with the Superintendent to discuss many different topics.  Applications are available in the School Counseling office - see Mrs. Smith. Completed applications must be received by the end of the school day on Monday, September 23rd.  Current members do NOT need to reapply.

2.  This week is Homecoming and Spirit Week!  The dance will be held Saturday, 9/21, from 8-10pm at Woodlands School.  Dance tickets will be sold through Friday during lunch.  Tickets are $10 each. 

3.  Steve Maraboli states,  "Take accountability... Blame is the water in which many dreams and relationships drown."  The Huron Tiger Core Value for the month of September is accountability.  If you are always accountable for your actions and do what you say you are going to do, you could be a Core Value nominee.  

4.  We have extra yearbooks from the 2019 school year for sale in the high school office.  The cost is $65. 

5.  Juniors and Sophomores interested in taking the PSAT on October 16th - Junior sign ups begin September 16th and Sophomore sign ups begins September 30th.  There are a limited number of tests so please sign up in the School counseling office as soon as possible.  The cost is $17 and you can pay by check (made out to Huron High School) or cash.

6.  Community Service Hours Opportunity:  Student tour guides and ambassadors are needed for Friday, September 20 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at HHS.  Any students interested should stop in the office and see Mr. Antonelli ASAP.  Go Tigers.

7.  Freshman please remember to bring your permission slip to the School Counseling office if you would like to attend the Futuremakers event at EHOVE.  Permissions slips are due by September 30th.

9.  Join us for the 8th annual "pink out" in support of the Piggyback Foundation. on October 11 at the home football game versus Oak Harbor.  Order forms are available in the high school office or at Lucky Stone.

Also, Huron Tigers Football team theme scholarship apparel is on sale now.  Order forms are available in the high school office or at Lucky Stone.

10.  News from the Huron Public Library:

Looking for a way to exercise your brain? Come to the Huron Public Library tonight from

6 - 7 pm to play some Chess.  For those that would like a more fast-paced game, the Library is hosting Euchre Night on Wednesday, September 18 beginning at 6:30 pm. New or experienced players are welcome and no registration is necessary.

Reminder to our Battle of the Books participants: There will be another practice session on Thursday, September 19 at 4:30 pm.
