Announcements - Wednesday, October 14, 2020

1.  Attention all NHS nominees:  The applications for National Honor Society are due this Friday (10/16).  All applications must be submitted to google classroom by 3:00 pm.  No late submissions will be accepted, so make sure to turn your applications in early.  If you have any questions feel free to see Mrs. Arambula in room 200.

2.  Any Freshmen, Sophomore, or Junior looking to run for Student Council this year, should stop by the high school office and pick up a petition. Petitions are due by Tuesday, October 20th.

3. Girls Basketball:  There will be a mandatory meeting after school today in room 207 for anyone interested in trying out for basketball this season.  If you have any questions see Coach Lobsinger.

4.  Anyone interested in trying out for 2020/2021 basketball cheer, please contact Coach Gioffre at 419-366-1787 no later than, Friday, October 16th.  

5.  Boys and girls who are interested in bowling this year, please stop by the high school office for an info sheet that talks about the upcoming season.

6.  Attention any senior who did not get their senior pictures taken by Lifetouch: If you would like your headshot to be included in the yearbook, Lifetouch will be in the gym taking free senior portrait headshots on Tuesday, 10/27 and Friday, 10/30 from 7am-11am. Please plan accordingly!

7.  Attention all students: the TLC class will be collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald house. Bring your pop tabs into your fifth period class. The class that brings in the most will win a Halloween treat.

8. Any student who is interested in community service, we are looking for tutors for Huron High School.  Tutoring is during your study hall or at your convenience.  Stop by Ms. Ryan's classroom if you are interested.

9.  Volunteer opportunity:  
Saturday, Oct. 31 is the 6th annual Spooktacular 5k.  We are in need of volunteers (prefer groups of 2) to direct runners on our course. All volunteers will be required to wear masks and duties will be outside, so we ask that they dress for the elements.  Must be available from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the latest.  If interested, please contact Angie Edwards at 419-366-1563 (call or text welcome) or email [email protected].  Spots are limited.  

10.  If you have a Chrome book checked out from the school, you can stop by the office to get a cover during your study hall.

11.  If you would like to be issued a locker to use before school, before lunch and after dismissal, please come to the main office during your study hall to sign one out.

12.  From the Huron Public Library:
Need a place to study or wait for a ride after school? The Huron Public Library has new Student Study Tables open from 3 - 4 pm and 4 - 5 pm after school. Teens ages 12 - 18 can reserve their own private table in the Library. Visit huronlibrary.org to make a reservation.
