Announcements - Thursday, 1/9/20

1.  Seniors are reminded that all community service hours are due to the Guidance Office no later than Friday, January 17th - the end of the first semester. 

2.  Football lifting begins Monday, January 13, in the weight room at 7pm.  Please see Coach Hohler with any questions.

3.  Reminder to seniors:  If you have been active in sports or marching band, be sure you have turned in a PE Waiver to the Counseling office to ensure you have met graduation requirements.
 
4.  A representative from Columbia University will be visiting HHS on Friday, 1/10 @ 1:30pm.  Please sign up through Naviance if interested.

5.  This year's Spring musical is "The Little Mermaid". If you are interested in being a part of the show, audition packets are available in the office and the choir room. Auditions will be next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sign up sheets are posted on the choir room door. Please see Miss Jackson with any questions.

6.  From the Huron Public Library:

Get those New Year's resolutions off to a good start with the Kindness Campaign at the Huron Public Library. From Monday, January 6 to Saturday, January 11 stop by the Library to learn about ways to help the Huron community. We will also be taking donations of non-perishable food items and winter gear like coats, hats, gloves, and scarves during this week. Start the new decade off with some good karma!

NEW THIS WINTER: The Library will be holding an Introductory Meeting for our brand new Teen Photography Club. If you are interested in learning about photography, or just want to improve your skills with people your own age, join this club. The first meeting is on Saturday, January 11 at 10 am. Future meetings will be determined by the group and cameras will be provided.

On Sunday, January 12, the Teen Library Council will be meeting to create the Blind Date with a Book display for the Library. If you want to join the Teen Library Council to meet others that enjoy making a difference in their community, come to this meeting beginning at 3 pm.

Perhaps you'd like a break from the freezing reality of winter? In that case, join our NEW monthly Dungeons & Dragons Club. Whether you're a seasoned player or even if you've never played before, this club gives you the chance to experience a fantasy world where your imagination is the only limit. The next meeting is on Monday, January 27 from 4 - 7 pm. Visit the Teen Services section of the Library's website to register today!

7.  All seniors, help support your male or female senior basketball player by purchasing a “I love Huron Basketball shirt”.  Forms are available for pick up in the office. Order forms need to be turned into Bennett’s by January 24th 2020.  Senior Night for girls basketball is January 31, 2020 and February 18, 2020 for boys basketball.
