HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - FRIDAY, 9/14/17

1Today is the last day to purchase homecoming tickets.  Tickets are $10 and are on sale during lunch.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  Guest forms must be turned in when purchasing a guest ticket.  The dance is Saturday from 8-10pm at Woodlands.

Results from the float competition: First place was the sophomore float, second place was the freshman float, third place was the senior float, and fourth place was the junior float.

"A Crucial Catch" fundraiser t-shirt forms are available in the high school office if you are interested in ordering one.  Orders must be submitted to Lucky Stone by Tuesday, September 19th!  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.  The shirts will be worn for the October 6th game vs Oak Harbor.  There will be a table set up at lunch today taking orders for the t-shirt.  Cost is $8.

Any Sophomore, Junior, and Senior interested in Model UN: please turn your letter of intent, telling why you want to be a part of the club, to Mrs. Merckens in room 206 today or Monday.
4.  Presale tickets for tonight's home football game vs Willard are on sale in the high school office.  Presale tickets are $5.  All tickets at the gate will be $6.

Students serving on the Superintendent cabinet - the first meeting of the year is today at noon in room 107.
6.  New Community Service Opportunity:  2017 Pumpkin Festival, Saturday, Oct. 14th at the Huron Boat Basin.  Volunteers are needed to help children with games and pumpkin painting. Pick up volunteer forms in the main office and mail completed applications to the address provided.

Attention: Anyone interested in joining Huron's NEW speech and debate club will need to report for a BRIEF meeting, directly after school Monday, September 18th, in the Union

8. New scholarship for Seniors: 2018 HonorsGradU Design a Better Future $10,000 Scholarship  Whether through essays or multimedia, students have used their voices to share visions for a better world. So here's your chance to put them to action! They're asking high school seniors to submit a proposal for how they'll better their communities. Log into Naviance for information and more details.

9. Teen Library Council at the Huron Public Library has its first meeting of the year today at 3pm. This meeting is extremely important so members are highly encouraged to attend.

Chess meets at the Library on Sunday, September 17 at 1 pm. New and seasoned players of all ages are welcome. No registration necessary.

Reminder: Chapter Chat meets Monday, September 18 at 2:30 pm in the Tiger Union. The book this month is All We Have Left by Wendy Mills.
