Announcements - Friday, 10/5/18

1.  Congratulations to the girls tennis team who competed in sectionals yesterday at Port Clinton! Everyone won their first match and Desiree Fisher qualified for districts in Bowling Green next Thursday! Go Lady Tigers and Good Luck Desiree!
 

2.  Attention all Speech and Debate members, there will be an organizational meeting today in room 212 immediately after school. Those participating in speech, please bring the speech or script which you will be using for the upcoming competitions.

3.  Presale tickets for tonight's football game at Oak Harbor are on sale in the high school office.  Tickets are $5 for adults and students in advance.  All tickets at the gate will be $6.

Attention college bound juniors:  You are encouraged to take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, 10/10/18.  Please bring a check or money order for $16 to Mrs. Smith in the School Counseling office made out to Huron High School by Friday, 10/5.

5.  Seniors be sure to be checking Naviance for new scholarships!  Also, scholarship links are on the Huronhs.com website, click on the "High School", go to School Counseling, and then Scholarships & Financial Information.

Attention Huron Seniors:  Bowling Green is hosting a Financial Aid Night Tuesday, October 9 at Firelands College Campus in the Cedar Point Center.  The presentation will begin at 6:00 pm.  Please join us for important information regarding funding your college education. 

7.  Attention Freshmen:  The deadline for the Manufacturing Exploration Day permission slip is Tuesday, October 9th.  Please turn the form into the main office by October 9th!

8.  Attention CCP students:  On Tuesday, October 29th, CCP advisors will be here to meet with ALL students wishing to take ONLINE courses in the Spring.  Students must sign up in the Counseling office.  Students planning to take courses on BGSU Firelands campus may also sign up to meet with advisors here or schedule on their own with an advisor on campus.

9.  St. Peter School 5K Spooktacular and Kids Pumpkin Fun Run is looking for volunteers for the October 27, 2018 race.  If you are interested in volunteering on the course or before or after the races, please contact Mary James or Angie Edwards.  Contact information is in the office.

  Sunday, October 7 through Saturday, October 13 is Teen Read Week at the Huron Public Library with the theme "It's Written in the Stars". Check out the special sci fi book display, and receive an entry for the prize basket drawing when you check anything out with your Library card. This is only for grades 7 - 12.

Cosmic T Craft, Thursday, Oct. 11th, @ 6:30pm for grades 7 - 12. Bring in a plain dark t-shirt (navy or black) and create an out of this world piece of wearable art. Registration required.


Teen Library Council meets Friday, October 12 at 3:30 pm. New members are welcome!
