Announcements - 2/6/18
1. The
Union will be closed to study hall students periods 1-4. Juniors and
Seniors please be sure to report to study hall so you aren't reported as
missing.
2. Today there will be a Student Cabinet meeting at noon in room 107.
3. Attention Seniors: Huron Lions Club scholarships paper applications are now available just outside the Counseling Office.
4. Macie Majoy and Kayla
Black have both competed at indoor meets at Oberlin and fared well.
Both took first place in their respective events on 1/28 and 2/4. Both have now qualified for the indoor State Track Meet on March 3 and 4 in Geneva, OH.
5. Freshmen - you are making big gains in the attendance competition and are about to pass up the Juniors. Keep it up!
6. Senior girls - Nurse Janis is organizing a free self-defense class
in cooperation with Huron Police. A sign-up sheet is in the main office
if you are interested.
7. Huron Parks & Rec has job opportunities in the following areas for students that are at least 16 years old and have a valid Drivers License:
*Park Maintenance
*Ball Field Maintenance
*Boat Basin Dock Hands
*Nickel Plate Beach Attendant
*Swim Instructors/Life Guard

8. There will be a track meeting for girls and boys after school on Wednesday, February 7 in the cafeteria.
9. Mrs. Bengele is starting to organize a trip to the Cleveland Center in
Oberlin for any student interested in air traffic control. Let her know
if you are interested.
10. Seniors you have until February 15th
to submit applications for Honor Cords as well as verify the Top
10%, Honors Diploma and Diploma of Distinction lists that are posted in
the Counseling office. See Mrs Fahr with any questions.
11. Juniors who are interested in attending Buckeye Boys State of Buckeye Girls State during the week of June 10, please stop by room 206 to pick up information. All applications are due to Mrs. Merckens by Wednesday, February 7th.
12. Cedar Point's open house is Sunday, March 4, from 2-5 pm at Castaway Bay where they will be offering on-site interviews and job offers.
13. Lunch today is a bacon cheeseburger or a hamburger.
