HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - MONDAY, MAY 16, 2016

1.  The Spring Arts Festival is Tuesday, May 17th. The art display will open at 6:00 and there will also be performances from the Band and Choir. Put it on your calendar and come join us for a spectacular evening of the ARTS!

Attention Drawing Students from 1st Semester who would like to display their artwork in the art show should see Ms Ryan today!

Ms Ryan would like to see  Aaron Schlessman at the conclusion of this announcement.

2.  Attention students seeking volunteer hours!

The Friends of the Huron Public Library are looking for helping hands to set up and tear down their Book Sale at the Huron Library. Volunteers would be asked to move boxes out of storage and alphabetize or organize books according to subject.

Volunteers are needed on Thursday, June 2 beginning at 9 AM and again on Monday, June 6 beginning at 9 AM. There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers at the Huron Library, just ask an employee at the circulation desktop sign-up. Thank you.

3.  Just a reminder there will be no more charging allowed in the cafeteria for this school year.

5.  Attention any student interested in running cross country next fall.  There will be a brief meeting in Coach Blevins' classroom after school on Thursday.  Please plan on attending.

6.  Huron Rotary's Interact Club is accepting membership applications.  The Interact Club is trying to better the world through community and global projects.  If you are interested in joining, please pick up an application form in the office or contact Grace Moser for more information.  The forms are due back to the office by May 19, 2016.

7.  If you are a student under the age of 18 and are planning on securing a summer job, you will need a work permit.  These are located outside the high school office.  There's a portion to be filled out by your parent, the employer and on the back is where you need a physician's signature stating you are able to perform the job.  The physician's signature is needed only if you DO NOT have a valid physical on file in the high school office already.  Once the form is completed, please drop that off to the high school office.  Usually the work permit (which you will need to sign) will be ready for you that afternoon or the following day.  Please plan accordingly.  Stop in with any questions.

8.  Lunch today is a chicken patty sandwich or a toasted pizza sub.
