1. Attention all Seniors: Honor cords are now posted in the Guidance
Office. Please check the lists for your name. If you do not see your
name, you did not qualify. The deadline to verify is by Friday, March 11th @ 2:45pm. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Fahr or Mrs. Smith.
2. Reminder to all staff and students: Today during 1st and 2nd periods, pictures will be taken in the gym of all school organizations/groups.
3. Winter
sport locker decorations will be disposed of after school today by the
custodians. If you want yours please remove it before leaving school.
4. New
scholarship added to HHS website:
BGSU FIRELANDS SCHOLARSHIPS – A wide variety of annual awards are available to
both full and part-time students.
Recipients must be admitted to the University; be enrolled in fall
courses at BGSU Firelands, and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA during the effective
period of award. Application forms
can be found at https://sfa.bgsu.edu/sa/firelands.
DEADLINE MAY 1, 2016.
Attention any students applying for the American Legion Auxiliary
Scholarship: Do NOT send applications to the American Legion. They have
requested that applications are to be turned into the Guidance office.
DEADLINE MARCH 11, 2016.
5. Attention all CCP students. Mr. Janik's replacement has been
hired. Sophia Jackson has taken his place and can be contacted at [email protected]. Please contact her if you have questions.
6. Cedar Point will be conducting open interviews for summer jobs on Sunday, March 6th, at Castaway Bay (located at 2001 Cleveland Rd in Sandusky) from 10am-3pm.
7. Attention all students wanting to take a UF course next year: UF has
notified HHS that if you have met the reading requirement on the Compass
or Accuplacer test and want to take UF Chem or Anatomy, you can apply
to UF and be considered under "Gateway Review." Your Science teachers
will discuss this in class. If you want to be considered for "Gateway
Review" please apply to UF and then submit your pink intent to
participate form, white course registration form and green CCP tracking
sheet to Mrs. Smith in the Guidance Office by April 1st. 8. Attention all registered voters: There are example ballot displays
around the building so that you can see all of the candidates running
within each party. You can only choose one party ballot on March 15. Remember: You have to prepare since they make you declare!
9. Academic
letter applications are now available in the high school office. You
must be a sophomore, junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 to
apply. The deadline to apply is April 1st. Please return forms to the high school office.
10. Signups for the Huron Baseball Softball program will be held at the Huron Eagles Sunday, March 6 from 1-4pm. If you are interested in participating, please stop by the high school office for more information.
11. Lunch today is bosco breadsticks or a toasted pizza sub.
