HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2017

1.  The Huron Tiger Football Program finished in the Top 8 out of 716 teams in the State for Academic All-Ohio for 2016!  This is a very prestigious award for our program and we are extremely proud as this is the 6th year in a row we have been recognized by the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association for academic excellence.

Thank you to everyone, as you have an integral part in shaping the minds of our students every single day.  We have an awful lot to be proud and thankful for.

2.  There will be a meeting in Coach Asher's room (105) after school tomorrow for those interested in playing boys soccer.

The Huron Public Library is teaming up with HHS to bring a teen book club to students in grades 9 through 12.  Meeting in the Tiger Union once a month after school, this hour-long book discussion group will cover various teen titles over a wide range of topics.  Each month's books can be delivered to the High School through the Tiger Book Shelf cooperation.  Registration is required. 4.  The Air Force will be visiting Jan. 10th at 9:00 a.m. in the Tiger Union.  Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.

All students who participated in the Fall semester of CCP at Firelands College - your textbooks were to be returned to Firelands bookstore at the end of the Fall semester.  If you have a text book that Firelands will not take back because it has a "zero value" - you MUST turn that book into the high school office, to Mrs. Enderle or Mrs. Steinmetz.

6.  Navy ROTC: Attention Students:  Kelsey Ohm, a former HHS graduate and now midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at The George Washington University will be visiting Monday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tiger Union. She will be providing information about how you can apply for a 100% full tuition scholarship applicable for many schools, while explaining what ROTC is and sharing her own personal experiences.  Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.


7.  Lunch today is a cheeseburger.
