ANNOUNCEMENTS - THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2016
1. All students who participated in the Fall semester of CCP at Firelands College - your textbooks MUST be returned to Firelands bookstore by Friday morning at 8:30am. If you have a text book that Firelands will not take back because it has a "zero value" - you MUST turn that book into the high school office, to Mrs. Enderle or Mrs. Steinmetz.
2. There is a 4th grade female at Woodlands looking for a female high
school Math tutor 2-3 times a week. This can be a paid position or done
for community service. Please see Mrs. Fahr for more information!
3. The Teen Library Council at the Huron Public Library will have a holiday party this Sunday, December 18, from 2 - 3:30 pm.
Members are encouraged to participate in the Ugly Christmas Sweater
contest, the Cookie Swap and the White Elephant Gift Exchange. Contact
Ms Carol for further
information.
4. Attention Seniors:
Jostens will be at Huron High School today during lunch periods in the cafeteria.
Please bring your
graduation orders
to Jostens at
this time. Remember to take advantage of all the order day discounts
and promotions! Extra order packets are available in the main office and
payment options are listed on the
information packet.
5. Zonta Club of Greater Sandusky scholarships:Zonta Young Women in Public Affairs Award
- Award of $250 available to young women ages 16-19 who exemplify
participation in public affairs by showing leadership and commitment to
volunteering in the community, and who are dedicated to empowering women
worldwide through service and advocacy. Applications are in the
Guidance office and on their website www.zonta.org Zonta Club of Greater Sandusky -
Scholarship
award of $1,000 available to a 2017 female graduate attending a college
or university who will be majoring in a science, technology,
engineering, or mathematics field. Applications can me found in the
Guidance office and by visiting www.zonta.org DEADLINES FOR BOTH ARE JANUARY 31,2017.

The deadline to register online for the Huron Ski & Snowboarding
Club is this Friday, Dec. 16, at midnight. There will be a short
meeting today immediately after school in the cafeteria
to answer any questions or concerns regarding the Ski Club.
Information packets are in the high school office or contact Julie
Parell.
7. Attention all Juniors going on the class trip: The second payment of $200 is due Friday.
8. Navy ROTC: Attention Students: Kelsey Ohm, a
former HHS graduate and now midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officer
Training Corps at The George Washington University will be visiting Monday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m.
in the Tiger Union. She will be providing information about how you can
apply for a 100% full tuition scholarship applicable for many schools,
while explaining what ROTC is and sharing her own personal experiences.
Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.
9. Reminder: Youth Coalition forms are due to the Guidance office by December 16th.
10. The After Prom committee is selling
candy grams for $1 during lunch through Friday. This is a fundraiser for the After
Prom committee. The candy grams will be passed out before Christmas
break. Don't miss out on sending your friends a candy gram!

Today is the last day to turn in a shoebox for Project
Happy-Christmas. Return it to the high school office.
