W.I.S. MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good morning today is September 27, 2022

The lunch menu for today is: Students will have the choice of Macaroni and Cheese or a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich . You will also receive California Blend Vegetables, Assorted Fruit  and Milk

Students will also have the choice of salad bar today.

Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge alive. Make sure you are journaling regularly, accepting others and doing kind acts. Make sure you recognize those students that do kind acts by completing a chain link for them.

Our value word for the week is: Consistency -  the quality or fact of being consistent, the quality or fact of staying the same at different times

Arsene Wegner once said, “When you look at people who are successful, you will find that they aren't the people who are motivated, but have consistency in their motivation.”

Woodlands students respect others not only in their speech but also their actions. Students need to realize that their actions can show disrespect as well. When students tsk another person, roll their eyes, or smack their lips these are all signs of disrespect. Gestures like these are a sign of disrespect and a bad attitude. Let’s stay positive, and show respect at all times.

Huron Public Library Tween & Teen Announcements for Week of Sunday, September 25

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month! This month gives us at the Huron Public Library an opportunity to remind our patrons that a library card is the key to endless possibilities. Help us celebrate with: FREE replacements for lost or damaged cards, entries into a gift basket drawing when you check out items, and special gifts for first-time children’s library cards.

Work on your strategic thinking by practicing Chess with chess master Paul Sherwood on Sunday, September 25 at 1 pm. Come for fun or to improve your game. Open to all ages and abilities.

Love crocheting or want to learn how? Meet up and share current yarn projects, get help from Library staff, or just enjoy being in the company of other crafters at the NEW Stitch Niche: Crochet Club. The next meeting is on Tuesday, September 27 at 3 pm. Bring your own yarn or use ours!

September is National Service Dog Month. All ages can help us welcome Huron City School’s psychologist Kathy Knight and Tali, a Sheepadoodle therapy dog, as they visit the Library on Tuesday, September 27 from 5 - 6 pm.

If you don't have a library card already, now is the perfect time to stop by and get one. For more information about our digital collections- including free ebooks, audiobooks, music and more- or to find out more about this fall's upcoming programs, follow the Huron Public Library on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.

The lost and found already has several items in it.  If you are missing items please stop by the lost and found and claim the items that are yours.

It’s time for Dine with Domino’s again! Dining with Domino’s will take place the 4th Tuesday of each month. This is an easy way to help the Huron PTO raise money. All you have to do is mention Huron PTO and Domino’s will gladly donate 10% of your order back to the school. You can even order online or through the Domino’s app.

Last year we raised over $3,000.00 just by eating pizza! We were able to help fulfill Teacher Wish List Items and other school related purchases for both Shawnee Elementary and Woodlands Intermediate!

We would love for you to participate and enjoy a delicious lunch or take a night off from cooking dinner. Thanks for your continued support,  GO TIGERS and order your Domino’s tomorrow!
