1. At the state track meet on Saturday, Joseph Schaeffer ran among the fastest athletes in Ohio. He finished 20th in the 100 and 19th in the 200. Congratulations on a great season as a two-time state qualifier, two-time SBC champion, and a school record holder in the 100 and 200.

2. The end of the year dance is May 20th from 6:00-8:00. Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold during lunches May 17-20. Remember to turn in your “rules & expectations” form in order to purchase a ticket. Remember you must be at school on time Friday, unless you have a medical excuse, in order to go to the dance.

3. Did you forget to order a yearbook and would like to have one? Ask Mr. Maleski to put your name on the list for one of the extra copies. The cost is $25.00 and you will need to bring payment with you on the last day of school. If you have questions, see Mr. Maleski.

4. Attention student council members, there will be a meeting today during 8th grade lunch. All members are expected to attend as we will be signing up to sell dance tickets and work at the dance.

5. There will be an informational meeting for any seventh and eighth grade student interested in running cross country this fall during study hall on Thursday.

6. There will be an informational meeting for 8th graders interested in playing golf next year on Monday, May 23. Listen for the announcement to be called down.

7. FROM THE HURON PUBLIC LIBRARY:
Want to get your poetry published? Submissions for this year's 44839: Poetry Contest will be accepted until the end of May and select winners have a chance to receive cash prizes and get their poems published in the next volume of the 44839: Poetry from a Zip Code anthology. Ages 17 and under can participate with parent/guardian permission. Find full rules for submission on huronlibrary.org.

Play some Chess at the Library with chess master Paul Sherwood on Tuesday, May 17 at 6 pm. Come for fun or to improve your game. If Tuesday doesn't work for you, Paul will be back on Saturday, May 21 at 10 am. Open to all ages and abilities.

Older students can also check out the Young Readers Club for readers in Grade 6 - 8. This month's book is Kingston and the Magician's Lost and Found by Rucker Moses & Theo Gangi. The next meeting is Wednesday, May 18 at 6 pm. Find all the monthly book club books at the main Circulation Desk at the Library.
