WIS ANNOUNCEMENTS


Good morning today is Monday, March 21, 2022


The lunch menu for today is - Students will have the choice of a Chicken Patty Sandwich or a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. Students will also receive Crispy Fries, Fresh Carrots, Assorted Fruit and Milk.

 


Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge alive. Make sure you are journaling regularly, accepting others and doing kind acts. Make sure you recognize those students that do kind acts by completing a chain link for them. 



Our value word for the week is: Conservation -  the protection of animals, plants, and natural resources, the careful use of natural resources (such as trees, oil, etc.) to prevent them from being lost or wasted



Jane Goodall once said, “Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help, shall all be saved.



Woodlands students do what’s right even when no one is looking. They have Integrity and work hard to create and build a safe learning environment.  




Tomorrow is Raise Dough for the PTO.  Students and staff all purchases from Domino's on Tuesday will support the PTO, who directly fund numerous programs for the students of Huron.  So order from Domino’s tomorrow to help our PTO.



Our efforts to control the lost and found this year are lost.  If you are missing items please stop by the lost and found and claim the items that are yours. Items left at the end of the grading period will be donated to the local food bank. 



Cheer clinics and tryouts for incoming 7th and 8th graders will run this week Monday, March 21st - Wednesday, March 23rd from 3:15 pm until 4:30 pm at the Huron High School gym. All paperwork must be turned in, prior to attending clinics. Stop by the office if you need information. 



Huron Public Library Tween & Teen Announcements for Week of Sunday, March 20


Work on your strategic thinking by practicing Chess with chess master Paul Sherwood on Tuesday, March 22 starting at 6 pm. Come for fun or to improve your game. Open to all ages and abilities.


The next Rockin' Readers Book Club meets on Wednesday, March 23 at 5:15 pm. Students in Grade 3 - 5 are welcome to join this monthly book club to share and discuss your favorite books with other readers! This month's book is City Spies by James Ponti. Grab the book from the Library today!


Older students can also check out the Young Readers Club for readers in Grade 6 - 8. This month's book is Kingston and the Magician's Lost and Found by Rucker Moses & Theo Gangi. The next meeting is Wednesday, March 23 at 6 pm. Find all the monthly book club books at the main Circulation Desk at the Library.


If you're looking for a more fast-paced, classic game, join fellow players for Euchre Night on Wednesday, March 23 starting at 6 pm in the AV area of the Library. Learn the game or come for practice. Open to teens and adults.


NEW THIS SPRING! Interested in coding and making new friends? Join a Girls Who Code Coding Club! The Library has two coding clubs for tweens (Grades 3 - 5) and teens (Grade 6 - 8) . Come to hang out, eat some snacks, and learn about coding in a supportive environment! Boys may also register. Visit huronlibrary.org to find registration for both clubs.
