  • Ms. T's groups will not meet this week. We will resume meeting next week.
 
  • Attention Student Council members, there will be a meeting on Thursday during 8th grade lunch. Please bring a pen or pencil with you.
 
  • The following students are recycling today during study hall: Adelyn VanSickle, Ly'anna Broughton, Khloe Wagoner, and Ayla Williams
 
  • The 7th grade girls won their second game of the year last night 32-30. Grace Knight made a shot at the buzzer to win the game. Reece Hotz not only made the long pass for the game winning shot but contributed 13 points to the lead the team. The 7th graders are now 2-0 and travel to a Perkins on Thursday night.

    8th grade also beat vermillion by a score of 44-3. Jenna Cox had 16 points, Meredith James 12, Rylie Dehn 10, Lucy Hinners 4, Casey Laffay 2, and Sophie Weltle added tenacious defense to this team win! 8th grade will follow the 7th grade game Thursday at Perkins. 
 
  • McCormick Jr. Honor Society is collecting items for OHgo December 1st – December 16th.  These items will be used to help fill shoe boxes for OHgo’s Project Happy this holiday season. Each homeroom will receive a box to donate items – the winning homeroom will get extra points for our holiday spirit week competition.
 
  • Chemo Care Package items can be donated until December 16th. Please bring in new items to your homeroom class for the kids who are battling cancer at Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. The winning homeroom class in each grade will be given a reward after Winter break! 
 
  • Huron City Schools are teaming with OH-GO again this year to give back.  Pack a shoebox with little Christmas gifts for a child in need. Wrap the shoebox and drop it off by December 16th.  For more information, pick up a brochure from the office or go to: www.ohgoreach.org. Click on the OHgo Reach and Project Happy Christmas links.
 
  • If you are planning to take extra days off during Winter Break, a vacation form needs to be completed and turned into the office.
 
  • FROM THE HURON PUBLIC LIBRARY:
Help your neighbors before the holidays and lower your late fees with Food for Fines! Until the end of November, fines for an overdue Huron Public Library item will be waived in exchange for each donation. Feel free to donate even if you don’t have fines.
 
The Library has a NEW Teen Tech Cart filled with cool tech like iPads and Chromebooks for teens in Grades 7 - 12 to borrow. Stop by after school on Wednesday, November 30 between 3 - 4:30 pm to try out some new tech like Spheros, Bloxels, digital instruments, sticker-makers, and more!
 
Looking for a great gift for a special someone? Look no further than the Library! The Friends of the Library are hosting a holidayBook Sale during the weekend of our Holiday Open House. The Book Sale will be held from 12 - 4:30 pm on Friday, December 2; 1 - 4 pm on Saturday, December 3; and 1:30 - 4 pm on Sunday, December 4. Best of all, each donation directly supports the Library!
 
Join Library staff and the Board of Trustees for our annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 3 from 3 - 5 pm during the city of Huron's Winter Fest for music, refreshments, crafts, and more! The Library will be open from 12:30 - 5 pm to ensure that patrons can stay warm while they wait for the Winter Fest fireworks at 6 pm.
 
Play some Chess at the Library with chess master Paul Sherwood on Sunday, December 4 at 1 pm. Come for fun or to improve your game. Open to all ages and abilities.
