Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge alive. Make sure you are journaling regularly, accepting others and doing kind acts. Make sure you recognize those students that are performing kind acts by completing a chain link for them. KCR - 24/7 - 365

Our value word for the week is: Courteous - very polite in a way that shows respect

John Bercow  once said, “I pride myself on being courteous to people, and trying to fashion good relations.”

Woodlands Students show respect to adults. They always respond to adults by saying things like “yes ma’am” or “no sir.” Just nodding your head or saying any other form of yes or no is not acceptable.

The lost and found already has several items in it. It is only going to grow as winter approaches.  If you are missing items please stop by the lost and found and claim the items that are yours.

Please remember we all have a responsibility with regards to making sure our school remains safe.  When going outside or coming inside please make sure the door closes behind you. Please stop propping doors open and not closing them behind you.  If you see a door propped open please close it or report it. If you see someone waiting outside to enter the building Do Not let them in.   Students should never open a door for anyone.

Last year our 6th grade choir entered a national rhythm contest. They entry was submitted at the end of the year and they were chosen as one of the 3 finalists.   They let the public cast votes in June after school was released to vote for the winner of the National Contest.  Our 6th grade choir won the National competition beating out all other entries from across the United States.  We are sorry the year got started and we did not recognize your success earlier.  Congratulations on working to be your best, hard work and your best effort always pays off.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “break a leg” or “hang in there?”

These are called idioms.  You can research an idiom or other type of figurative language and dress up in your favorite one for school on Monday, October 31, 2022. Please be sure your attire is not distracting and will not prevent others from learning.  Start planning now so you don’t  “miss the boat” on this fun activity!

Here are some possible ideas>>

”butterflies in your stomach”

“cat got your tongue?”

“get up on the wrong side of the bed”

“green thumb”

“hit the books”

“hit the hay”

“knock on wood”
