W.I.S. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good morning today is Monday, December 19, 2022

The lunch menu for today students will have the choice of Mini Corn Dogs or a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. You also have the choice of any two or more of Baked Beans, Assorted Veggies with Dip and Milk

Next week there is a change to our lunch menu.

On Wednesday, December 21 the menu will be Cheese Pizza, Green Beans and a Holiday Slush Cup.

Our value word for the week is: Gratitude -  a feeling of appreciation or thanks

Robert Braathe once said, “Gratitude and attitude are not challenges; they are choices.

Let’s remember Woodlands Students are kind, compassionate and respectful. So during this Holiday Season please remember that this season is truly about giving. Not receiving. It’s not about getting the biggest present or the best new toy or game. It is about giving to others, our family, our close friends or just those in need in our community. It’s not about the price tag on the item but that it comes from your heart. Please, let’s not lose the meaning of this Holiday Season.

The lost and found already has several items in it.  If you are missing items please stop by the lost and found and claim the items that are yours. All the items hanging in the front entrance are items in our lost and found. Please stop and look to see if any of the items are yours.

December is the month of giving.  Each day during the month of December we will offer a way that you can give some kindness to others. Please try each day to give the daily gift to at least one person. Today, donate some warm winter clothes to the local food bank for those that are in need.

Do you love to crochet, or would you like to learn how? Meet up and share current yarn projects, get help from Library staff, or just enjoy being in the company of other crafters at the Stitch Niche: Crochet Club for teens and adults. The next meetings are on Tuesday, December 20 at 3 pm and Tuesday, January 3 at 3 pm.

Are you in Grades 3 - 5? Do you love reading? Join the Rockin' Readers Book Club! December's book selection is called The Many Mysteries of the Finkel Family by Sarah Kapit. Even if you don't have time to finish the book, you are welcome to come and try out the club!

The Library will be CLOSED on Saturday, December 24 for Christmas Eve and Sunday, December 25 for Christmas Day.

Let the Library help you ring in the year with a New Year’s Celebration Kit for students in Preschool - Grade 6. Glasses, hats, noisemakers, and other party supplies will be included. It’s time for Dine with Domino’s again! Dining with Domino’s will take place the 4th Tuesday of each month - that’s tomorrow. This is an easy way to help the Huron PTO raise money. All you have to do is mention Huron PTO and Domino’s will gladly donate 10% of your order back to the school. You can even order online or through the Domino’s app.

Last year the PTO raised over $3,000.00 just through Domino’s! We were able to help fulfill Teacher Wish List Items and other school related purchases for both Shawnee Elementary and Woodlands Intermediate!

We would love for you to participate and enjoy a delicious lunch or take a night off from cooking dinner. Thanks for your continued support,  GO TIGERS and order your Domino’s tomorrow!
