1.  Veterans Day began as ‘Armistice Day’ on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I.  Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938.  

 Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans – both living and dead – and gives thanks to veterans who served their country honorably. – this is an important day and necessary time - to both recognize and thank our veterans for their service.  I hope that you will take the initiative yourself to say thank you to the veterans that you have in your life.


2.  Locker decorations come down at the end of the day - if you want yours be sure to take it with you.

3.  Attention all students and staff: TLC's gently used clothing drive is under way through November 18. Bring items to your 5th period class. Weekly prizes will be awarded to top classes! Thank you for being willing to help those in your community who are less fortunate.

4.  A change in the date for the Senior pictures for the Athletic Boosters program;  It has been changed to next Sunday, November 20th.  Stay tuned for the time.

5.  We still have Varsity spots available for both boys and girls Bowling……please come and join the fun.  Practices are Monday and Wednesday, 4:30-6:00, at Riverview Lanes.  Or let the office know if you are interested and they will get you in touch with the Coach.

6.  Community service opportunity:  The Huron Eagles will be having their annual feather party November 12th from 1-6pm.  This is a Thanksgiving dinner for members and their guests.  We are looking for help to seat people, serve food and bus tables.

7.  Monday's lunch has been changed to a chicken fajita, spanish rice, fruit & veggie bar.

8.  Huron Public Library Teen Announcements:
Help your neighbors before the holidays and lower your late fees with Food for Fines! During the entire month of November, fines for an overdue Huron Public Library item will be waived in exchange for each donation- one unexpired or non-perishable food item per overdue item. Feel free to donate even if you don't have fines.

There is still time to register for November's Teen Cooking Challenge! This popular program for Grades 7 - 12 continues with new, delicious recipe kits to try at home. Pick up a kit today. This month's kit includes the supplies and ingredients to make a mason jar French toast dessert. Register fast because supplies are limited.

If you prefer a more strategic game, play some Chess at the Library with chess master Paul Sherwood on Sunday, November 13 at 1 pm. Come for fun or to improve your game. Open to all ages and abilities.
