HHS Science Lab Renovation 2007

(Updated 7/24/07)

This year, ICI Paints (Formerly Glidden) is sponsoring the renovation of our 4 High School Science Labs to convert them into a modern representation of science-based learning. We invite you to join us as we watch the labs come into fruition on our virtual build site.

July 23rd, 2007

As you can see, Drywall is mostly complete and the trenches in the floor have been filled. The Ductwork is in along the ceiling, and things are coming along.

Here's a view facing north from the lab between Ms. Telenko and Mr. Asher's room. The two doors on the right are storage, and there's a hallway that leads to Ms. Telenko's room.

Here's a view of Mrs. Fahr's Home Ec room - as you can see, the wall that separated to lab from the classroom has been split, and you can see directly into the lab.

The framing is up for the storage rooms/washrooms in the Home Ec Lab. Each lab station is getting new wiring and equipment.

Here's a view from Mr. Hohler's room into Mr. Blevins' room. You can see the plumbing that's to go to each lab station has been completed. We're awaiting cement and flooring. There's not much framing to be done in this room.

Ms. Telenko's room, however, DOES have quite a bit of framing to accomodate extra storage. Conduit has been run and we're starting to see some electrical work being completed.

Heres a closer look of the individual lab stations and the plumbing that's been completed.

July 3rd, 2007

Framing has begun - note this shot from the former Chemistry Lab looking north towards Ms. Telenko's room. All this framing was done between July 2nd and July 3rd - things are coming together!

Note the trenches beneath the floor. Once again, we're looking toward Ms. Telenko's Room.

Here's the Framing between the Chemistry Lab and Mr. Asher's room.

Long View

Here is a long view of what will become Mr. Hohler and Mr. Blevins' two rooms. As you can see, the walls have been knocked out, unistrut is now on the ceiling, and the trenches have been dug for plumbing and power to every lab station. Notice the wood paneling on the left - that's where the Greenhouse used to be.

Vertical Long View

This is another view of the trenches that were dug to accomodate Plumbing and Power directly to the lab stations. Everything has been ripped off the walls, the tiling has been removed, unistrut is attached to the ceiling, and dirt is being removed to accomodate the upgrades.

Old Lab

This is a view from what was the lab between Ms. Telenko's and Mr. Asher's rooms. A wall is being erected, trenches are being dug and plumbed, and things are slowly coming to fruition.

In The Trenches

A closer view of the trenches. Notice the existing lines and the new PVC Pipe.
