State Report Card
On Thursday, September 13th, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) will release district and individual school report cards. A district report card is comprised of six components, graded A-F. The components are Achievement, Progress, Graduation Rate, Prepared for Success, K-3 Literacy, and Gap Closing. This report card marks the first year all districts are assigned an overall letter grade.

While we are extremely proud of the work carried out by our students, faculty, and staff as evidenced by the areas of significant improvement, we embrace the challenges our report card has exposed, and the need for continuous growth. Our building principals, grade level and departmental teams, and central office team have started to examine the data in an effort to find areas where we can make an impactful difference for our students. When combined with other accountability measures, our faculty and staff can more accurately determine the level of a student’s academic growth.

Please keep in mind, the report card is a single snapshot of our district and does not provide a holistic picture of our overall success. It does not fully account for all the learning that occurs daily nor does it reflect the high level of school safety, extra-curricular participation and success, staff engagement with students or the high level of community support our district receives.

We are committed to using the information contained in our report card, along with other evaluative measures, to develop programing and instructional practices that will guarantee our students are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of today’s quickly changing, global marketplace.

GO TIGERS!
