1. Are you and your parents taking extra days off at Christmas break? A vacation form needs to be submitted to the office prior to the absence, so that Mr. Carter can approve the absence.

2. Attention, girls interested in attending a softball skills clinic: The high school coaching staff and players are sponsoring a clinic to be held during January. More information is available in the wall pockets outside the office. Please stop by and pick up a copy if you are interested.

3. Are you interested in working on the McCormick Yearbook? If so, there will be a meeting during the 7th and 8th grade lunches today. If you are in 7th grade and your last name begins with the letter O-Z, bring your lunch to Mr. Maleski's room today. If you are in 8th grade and your last name begins with the letter O-Z, meet in Mrs. Brown's room today during lunch. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Maleski or Mrs. Brown.

4. Members of the academic challenge team, NJHS, Power of the Pen, and student council are needed to work concessions during the junior high basketball games. The sign up sheet is in the office. Please see Mrs. Aber or Mrs. Rowen if you have any questions.

5. Remember this Friday, December 18, there is an early dismissal at 1:35.

6. Congratulations to the wrestling team for an excellent start to their 2015-2016 season! The Tigers won their opening tournament just out scoring Black River, Sandusky, and Norwalk St. Paul. In addition to the team championship, Dakota Leeland won an individual title in the 110lb weight class. Jacob Detlor and Joey Huddleston were 2nd; Daniel Spurrier and Brody Rourke earned 3rd place while Malachi Steiner was 4th. In team duals, the Tigers are 4-2 with victories over Northwood, Lakota, Sylvania Northview and a thrilling 43-42 victory over Oregon Clay. In the Clay match, Julian Davis set the tone with a 27 second pin but Sam Mitchell was the hero of the night with his 2nd period pin in the 172lb weight class which secured a Tiger team victory! Collin Ohm went 2-0 over the weekend with a pair of pins in the 142lb weight class, Brody Rourke beat a previously undefeated wrestler from Genoa and Leeland ran his perfect record to 11-0. Great job wrestlers. Come support your Huron Jr. High wrestling team tonight at the high school when they take on the Ashland Crestview Cougars and Western Reserve Roughriders at 6pm.

7. Congratulations to the swim team for taking second in the tri-meet on Tuesday night against Lima and Fremont. First places went to Sarah Klaiber for swimming and Victoria Eytchison for diving.

8. There will be a brief meeting after school tomorrow in the McCormick cafeteria for any 8th grade boy interested in playing soccer. If you are unable to attend, e-mail coach Asher.

9.  Students interested in bowling - practices are on Wednesdays and Saturdays at Riverview Lanes.  Stop by the office for more information.

10. Today's practice for 7th and 8th grade boys basketball has been canceled.
