1. Girls basketball tryouts are this week: 7th grade 3:00-4:30 and 8th grade 4:30-6:00. Questions – see Ms. Jackson or Ms. Cotton.

2. Boys Basketball Open Gym: --Today - 7th grade boys from 6:30 - 7:30 and 8th grade boys 7:30 - 8:30 (quick meeting at 7:15 for the 8th grade boys) --Wednesday Nov. 1st- 7th grade boys 6:30 - 7:30 and 8th grade boys from 7:30 - 8:30

3. Junior High Basketball Cheer Tryouts will be at Woodlands on Tuesday, October 31st through Thursday, November 2nd. Please pick up the tryout packet in the office. All paperwork must be completed and turned in the first day of clinic.

4. Tomorrow, Halloween, is the dance, with costumes, prizes, dancing and monstrous fun. Tickets are on sale during lunches for $5. If you just want to come to school in costume on Halloween but can't come to the dance, you can do that for $1. The Halloween dance will benefit our local food pantry and hurricane relief efforts. We have not sold many tickets to the dance. Are you Halloween dancing tomorrow? Buy your ticket today or let Mrs. Aber or Mrs. Rowen know you are coming. 

5. COSTUME DOS & DONTS: No masks, No body paint (except face paint) and No weapons (real or fake). All other dress code rules will apply. If you have questions about your costume idea, please see Mr. Carter, Mrs. Aber, or Mrs. Rowen by the end of the day today.

6. Today’s dance ticket sellers during 8th grade lunch are Rae Roldan, Megan Solberg, and Nate Witte. During 7th grade lunch, ticket sellers are Ayden Duffy, Jake Lagando and Abram Fortune.

7. Student Council and MJHS members are reminded to bring their cookies, punch and water today and tomorrow for the dance.

8. Grade cards will be distributed this Friday. Fees need to be paid, overdue library books need to be returned, uniforms need to be retuned, etc., so that your grade card is not withheld.

9. Picture retakes are today at 10:45 (the beginning of 5th period). If you were absent on picture day in September, plan to have your picture taken. Order forms are available in the office if you need one. If you received your pictures and are not happy with them, please remember to bring those with you to give to the photographer so you can have your picture re-taken.

10. This Friday, Social Worker, Sue Daugherty, will be here for our Future Friday’s presentation during study halls. Students are reminded to check in with homerooms and wait for the announcement to be called down to the auditorium.

11. Locker decorations from fall sports need to be removed from lockers and taken home by the end of the day tomorrow. Any locker decorations remaining on the lockers will be disposed of by the custodians.

12. 8th graders in the Martian Book Club: If you are interested in working on the Ollie Code Breaking activity, you are welcome to work in Mrs. LaCrosse's room during lunch. Also, all members should read up to Chapter 17 for Friday's meeting.

13. Students that are interested in participating in the Coding Club should meet after school on Wednesday in Mrs. LaCrosse's Room. This is room 201. We will meet until 4:00 pm. Please make sure that you have a ride promptly at 4:00 pm. See you then! 

14. Be a part of the one kind act movement at McCormick and in the city of Huron. Browse the one kind Act wall in the hallway across from the office. You can choose a card, replace it with a signed smile and change the world one kind Act at a time.
