Announcements - Friday, 12/1/17

1.  The NHS canned food drive ends today.  Thanks for sharing and remember that the 1st Period class with the highest average wins a Donut party!

2.  There will be a meeting on Wednesday, December 6, at 2:30PM for anyone interested in playing football next season.  The meeting will be short.  Please see Coach Hohler if you have any questions.

3.  Lifetouch will be in to take Senior head shots for those not yet photographed by them on Wednesday, December 6, from 7am-11am. 

4.  From the Huron Public Library:

The Huron Public Library Open House is this Saturday, December 2 from 2 - 4 pm, with performances by Magician Jack Grady, the Old Mill Brass Quintet, and the HHS Troubadours. Refreshments, a family craft, face painting and a visit with Santa are all part of the fun. Everyone is invited.

The Teen Library Council "Fun, Food and Friendship" party will be Friday, December 8 at the regular meeting time, 3 pm, and last until 4:30 pm. Members are encouraged to bring a friend, and a seasonal snack to share (which may be dropped off the night before.) Bring a gift for the Secret Santa tree if you (and/or your friend) would like to receive a gift (suggested $10 value.)

5.  New Scholarship added to Naviance:

Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award - Recipients should demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as indicated by high school grades, test scores, and school activities and awards.  Applications can be found in the HHS Counseling office and completed applications are to be returned to HHS Counseling office by Feb. 2, 2018.

6.  Serving Our Seniors is looking for 2 choreographers to teach 5 firefighters and 5 law enforcement officers a SIMPLE dance routine.  It would require the students to hold practice 1 hour each Saturday, 9am – 10am, from January 1 through April 21 in the Sandusky or Perkins area.  Please see Mrs. Bengele if interested.

7.  Huron Ski and Snowboard Club deadline is December 19.  There will be a short meeting Monday, December 18th in the cafeteria to collect forms and answer any questions.  This is a highly discounted program offered by Brandywine Ski Resort for experts as well as beginners.  The program includes rental, lessons, plus value passes for your friends or family. 

8.  Lunch today is macaroni & cheese.
