3. McCormick Junior High hosted and participated in the first ever Junior High Drone Racing Competition, this past Saturday at Huron High School. McCormick was the runner up, with Sandusky Central Catholic taking first place and Edison taking third. Our amazing pilots for this event were Deacon Eversmann, Tony Pendergrass, Kirill Turovskiy, and Lauren Schindley, all giving impressive performances with their line-of-sight piloting. Lukas B was the ultimate spotter, fixing drones on the course during the race, and was supported by the pit crew of Lily Dendinger, Roz Planthaber, Caden Nethers, and Jassic Kraus. A special thanks to Mr. Carter, Mr. Haplea, Mr. James, Mrs. Rowen, Ms. Jackson, and Mrs. Bengele for volunteering and making this event a success! The next Drone Racing Competition will be at Kalahari Resort on May 5. Good luck racers! Thank you for representing McCormick Junior High and Huron City Schools!
