Announcements - Friday, 9/14/18

1.  Presale tickets for tonight's football game at Ravenna Southeast are on sale in the high school office.  Presale tickets are $5 each and HHS gets to keep 100% of the proceeds from the presale.  Please buy in advance.  All tickets at the gate will be $6.

Varsity football players will be dismissed at 2:15PM today for their game at Ravenna Southeast.  Athletes please follow your schedule and be on time for the bus.

2.  Huron won 5-0 over SMCC in girls tennis yesterday.  The overall record for the Lady Tigers is 7-4/6-3 in conference

3.  Do you need volunteer hours?  Are you interested in helping your community and school?  Then Interact is the club for you!  Applications for the 2018-2019 year are available now in the high school office.  Turn them back into the office by next Tuesday, the 18th, to be considered for membership.

4.  Students if you are planning on bringing a guest to Huron High School's Homecoming Dance remember there is paperwork to be filled out by your guest's parent and their principal.  These papers are located outside the high school office and will need to be turned in when you purchase dance tickets next week.  Why not plan ahead and take the paperwork home with you this weekend?!

5.  Attention College Bound Juniors:  You are encouraged to take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test scheduled the morning of Wednesday, October 10th, 2018.  Please bring a check or money order for $16.00 to Mrs. Smith in the School Counseling office made out to Huron High School by Friday, October 5th, 2018.
 
6.  Attention students!  Next week is Spirit week.  Please look at the papers posted around the school for each day's theme.  Monday is Pajama Day.  Please make sure all attire is school appropriate.  Get creative and show your school spirit!

7.  Art Club members, there are signs posted around the school to Join Remind 101. If you want to join the Art Club and receive the schedule and announcements, please sign up on Remind! Or come to the Art Room and get the Remind Code.

8.  A representative from the US Navy will be here during lunches on Monday, 9/17.  Stop by their table if you'd like to learn more.

New Community Service Hours Opportunity:  The Huron Parks & Recreation are looking for volunteers for the 2018 Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13th, at the Huron Boat Basin. Volunteer forms are available in the School Counseling office.

10.  Attention anyone wishing to participate in Speech and Debate:  There will be an organizational meeting Thursday, September 20, at 2:30pm in room 212.  Please make arrangements to attend so we can begin preparations for competitions.

The Huron Public Library Council meets today at 3:30pm.  We look forward to welcoming new members and catching up with old members.  Thinking about joining?  Come to a meeting and check it out!
12. The  high school office has forms available if you'd like to order a t-shirt for Crucial Catch. The last day to order is September 25th.

14.  The Elks Student of the Month scholarship applications are available in the Counseling office for seniors.  If selected as a student of the month, you will not only be entered into the local scholarship competition, but also have your bio in the Sandusky Register and be invited to a scholarship dinner in May.  Only the 1st 14 students to apply will be entered. Please return completed applications with a wallet size photograph to Mrs. Smith in the Counseling office.

15.  Lunch today is Oriental chicken or a hamburger.
