Announcements - Wednesday, 1/24/18

1.  The Coast Guard will be here for a lunch room visit today.

2. 
The bowling team traveled to Willard for a conference match with the Willard Flashes.
To start off our girls struggled to find the right groove at Dynasty Lanes and fell short in their match.
Leading scores for our Lady Tigers were Erin Kleinhans who shot 147 and 234 for a two game total of 381.  She was followed up by Lindsey Steinmetz who had games of 141 and 142 for a total of 283.

The Huron Tiger Boys Bowling Team put together a strong showing shooting two game totals of 1890 and 884 in bakers for a total of 2774 to Willard’s 2686 winning their match by 88 pins.

Top scores for the boys were Nick Pack who shot 233 and 258 for a total of 491.
Followed by Jared Ochs who shot 226 and 194 for a two game total of 420.
Micheal Bryk was right there shooting 419.

JV Tigers also won their match shooting 1116 to Willard’s 944.
Congratulations to the Huron Tiger Bowlers for another (W) in the win column.


3.  New Scholarships added to Naviance:

Cavaliers/Huntington Scholarship Program - The Cavaliers and Huntington Bank will award ten (10) Northeast Ohio high school seniors with a $2,000.00 college scholarship.  Log into Naviance for more information and guidelines.  DEADLINE FEBRUARY 16, 2018

Nordson BUILDS Scholarship Program - Several awards available to students wishing to pursue post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business. For more information and eligibility requirements please log into your Naviance account.  DEADLINE MAY 15, 2018.

4.  Baseball players: 

Baseball Open Gym Thursday at 8:30-9:15 at Woodlands (Throwing)

Sunday 4:30-5:15 at Woodlands (Juniors and Seniors), 5:15-6pm (Freshman and Sophs.)
 

5.  Mrs. Bengele is taking a small group of students to the Cedar Point business department on March 20 for a job shadow.  If you have an interest in business, marketing, or finance and would. like to go, please see her to apply. 

6.  Lunch today is pepperoni pizza.
