1. The annual College Credit Plus Informational meeting will be tonight at 6:00pm in the McCormick Auditorium.
2. There is a Parent/Student Incoming Freshman Orientation for students in the 8th grade who will be attending the high school next year, on Wednesday, February 7th at 6:00pm in the McCormick Auditorium.
3. Parent-Teacher conferences are on February 20th from 3:00 – 6:00 and on February 22nd from 3:00 – 7:00. Parents should call the office to schedule a conference time.
4. 2017-18 Yearbook order forms have gone out. You may order online or with cash or check and the order form. All orders must be submitted by February 24. Give order forms with check or cash to Mr. Roth in the morning, or Mr. Maleski or Mrs. Brown.
5. Flu season is here!! Help keep yourself and your classmates healthy by: Washing your hands for 20 seconds, and often, especially before eating, and after sneezing or coughing. Keep your hands away from your eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Use good cough etiquette by coughing and sneezing into your sleeve or a kleenex rather than your hands.
6. Wednesday, January 31st, letters were given to students who qualify to apply for potential membership in the McCormick Junior Honor Society. If you have any questions, or a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher and did not receive a letter, please see Mr. Carter or Mrs. Aber. The completed student activity information form and essay must be turned in to the office by Friday, February 9th.
7. On Friday, February 16th at the Boys’ Varsity Basketball game, the Huron Tigers and the Vermilion Sailors are spreading the message that even rivals can join together and spread kindness. Homeroom teachers have t-shirt order forms if you would like to order a t-shirt for the game. Orders need to be placed by Tuesday, February 6th.
8. Students are encouraged to get involved by participating in the Acts of Kindness Poster Contest. Please see your homeroom teacher or the office for information. Posters are due by Friday, February 9th. The winner will receive a Kindness T-shirt and be announced at the Boys’ Basketball game on February 16th during halftime.
9. Jonathan Merckens, Financial Advisor, will be our presenter for Future Fridays this week. Students are reminded to check in with homerooms and wait for the announcement to be called down to the auditorium.
10. Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and Student Council has the perfect gift for your best friend, favorite staff member, or even that special someone. Student Council will be taking orders for carnations Wednesday - Friday during both lunches. The cost is $1 per carnation. Flowers will be delivered at the end of the day on Feb. 14th.
