ANNOUNCEMENTS - FRIDAY, APRIL 29, 2016

1.  ATTENTION ALL CCP on Campus and Online Participants

If you are taking classes on campus or online, you MUST RETURN all textbooks, including work books, CD’s etc., to the Firelands bookstore (across from the Admissions Office in Foundation Hall) no later than 5:00 pm on the last day of finals (May 6th)!

1. Bring ID and identify yourself as a CCP participant.
2. Do not accept money for the books.NO EXCEPTIONS!
 
3. If the bookstore staff informs you that there is no buy-back value for your book/s, you MUST return them to your high school counselor’s office to determine if they want the book/s or if they permit you to keep it

Your high school may charge full retail price plus tax for any materials not returned by the May 6th deadline. The charges must be paid to your school district.

Prom tickets will be on sale all of next week in the cafeteria during lunch.  Tickets will be $25 - this price includes the after prom.  Admission into after prom will be $10 if you are not planning on going to prom.  If you are bringing a guest who is not a Huron student there is paperwork that must be filled out.  There is an emergency medical form as well as a paper that must be signed by their principal.  You must turn this paperwork in at the time of ticket purchase.

3.  Seniors, we need your pictures for the Baccalaureate Video.  If you have any pictures from kindergarten to high school that you would like to be shown, please either share these pictures with Ashleigh Osterling or Tori Fantozzi on social media or give them a hard copy.  Group pictures, baby pictures, funny pictures and memories are all welcome!  You have until May 17th to submit.

4.  Attention freshmen, sophomore and junior girls....Are you involved in our community?  Would you like the opportunity to represent Huron through your leadership skills and be a positive role model for others while participating in the 2016 Huron River Fest Queens Contest?  A $500 scholarship is available to this year's Queen upon graduation.  Applications are currently being accepted and must be postmarked by June 3, 2016.  For more information regarding participation and an application, please log on to Huronriverfest.com.

  Student Body President and Vice-President applications are available in the high school office until Monday, May 2nd.  All applicants must be a Senior next school year and have served on Student Council for at least one full year.

6.  Interested in earning community service hours?  Admiral's Pointe is hosting a Prom for their Seniors on May 12th from 6:30-8pm.  They would love for our students to dress up and show up for this special night.  There will be food and entertainment.   Stop into the high school office to sign up for this wonderful opportunity to make the night of a Senior Citizen special!!

7.  SENIORS:  Your Senior Survey is due to the Guidance Office today. 

8.  Huron Rotary's Interact Club is accepting membership application.  The Interact Club is trying to better the world through community and global projects.  If you are interested in joining, please pick up an application form in the office or contact Grace Moser for more information.  The forms are due back to the office by May 19, 2016.

9.  Attention Graduating Seniors:  Label Aid is looking to fill a Rewind/Inspector position at their Huron location on Rye Beach Rd.  If you're looking for full-time employment with benefits stop into the Guidance office for more information.

10.  Attention all students planning on taking a class out at Firelands next year:  It is very important that you print off your BG schedule and turn it in to Mrs. Fahr in the Guidance Office asap.  She will then meet with you to work with your schedule.

11.  Attention all current Seniors who are planning on attending BGSU Firelands next year: There are many scholarships that are available and some that are only for Huron HS students.  The deadline to apply for these is May 1st.  Please visit the BGSU Firelands Financial Aid website to apply!

12.  Attention students and staff who haven't already ordered a 2015-2016 yearbook:  The deadline to order a yearbook is Friday, May 13. Either order one online by visiting jostens.com, or bring a check in to Mrs. Lee, made out to Huron High School, for $65. 

13.  Attention all students: EHOVE Summer School applications are now available in the Guidance Office. Applications are available until classes are full or until June 10th. Please stop in if you are interested!

14.  If you are a student under the age of 18 and are planning on securing a summer job, you will need a work permit.  These are located outside the high school office.  There's a portion to be filled out by your parent, the employer and on the back is where you need a physician's signature stating you are able to perform the job.  The physician's signature is needed only if you DO NOT have a valid physical on file in the high school office already.  Once the form is completed, please drop that off to the high school office.  Usually the work permit (which you will need to sign) will be ready for you that afternoon or the following day.  Please plan accordingly.  Stop in with any questions.

15.  Lunch today is pasta & meat sauce or a hot ham and cheese sandwich.
