HURON HIGH SCHOOL
MONDAY, APRIL 11, 2016

1.  Any students interested in a Summer Youth Employment Program, or year-round On-the-Job Training programs coordinated through EHOVE Career Center can stop into the Guidance office for more information.
2.  New scholarship available in the guidance department:  HURON LIONS SCHOLARSHIP – Scholarship awards of $500 are available to graduating seniors of Huron High School and EHOVE.  A written essay, demonstrated school and community involvement, and a minimum 2.5 GPA are required.  Stop into the Guidance office for applications.  DEADLINE APRIL 18, 2016.

   Beginning Thursday this year's End of Course Exams will take place at HHS.  Students are allowed to use head phones if they choose on sections of the test.  We will have some head phones available like we did last year but if you think you will want to use headphones we strongly encourage you to bring your own from home.  Ear buds will work as well.
This week's Testing will include :  English 9 / English 10 on both Thursday and Friday.

4.  Attention all Juniors:  If you are interested in pursing higher education after high school and are interested in the Navy, stop into the Guidance Office to get the contact information about the NROTC Scholarship application process. 

5.  Attention all students: EHOVE Summer School applications are now available in the Guidance Office. Applications are available until classes are full or until June 10th. Please stop in if you are interested!

6.  Teen Library Council members must stop by the Huron Public Library by April 15 to pick up a permission slip for the after-hours event on Friday, April 29, if they plan to attend.

Teens interested in learning meditation are invited to a free "Introduction to Meditation" class on Wednesday, April 13, at 6:30pm at the Huron Public Library.  This will be led by Brian Henderson of Open Way Yoga Studio.  Registration is required.

7.  Cinderella's Closet is now taking appointments for their 6th annual prom dress shopping boutique day!  Are you planning on attending prom but the cost is holding you back?  Cinderella's Closet will assist young ladies with prom dresses and accessories at NO COST for those that do not have the financial means.  Please make your appointment today to reserve your date and time to shop.  See the flyers located outside the high school or guidance office for more information.

8.  Lunch today is a chicken patty sandwich or a toasted pizza sub.
