HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - WEDNESDAY, MAY 11, 2016

1.  Attention Seniors:  This Friday during 5C lunch, Seniors are to report to the football field to film for the Senior video.  If you normally leave during 5C, please stay so we can get you in the video.  Students who eat 5C lunch are asked to quickly finish their lunch and report to the field. 

2.  Starting Friday, May 13, there will be no charging allowed in the cafeteria anymore for this school year. 
3.  New scholarship for Senior girls:  DEMOCRATIC WOMEN OF ERIE COUNTY – Scholarship award of $500 available to a local female resident who demonstrates the principles of the Democratic Party.  An essay and a minimum 3.0 GPA are required.  Stop in the Guidance office for more information and applications.  DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JUNE 3, 2016.

4.  Powderpuff sign-ups are taking place today during lunch.  T-shirt order forms are available, due with money by the end of the day today!  Order forms can be turned into Sarah Blevins or the office.  During the Powerpuff game, there will also be a bake sale to help raise money for the library renovation project.  The game takes place Friday, May 20th, and even if you aren't participating we hope you still come out to support!

5.  Seniors are reminded that your "rules & regulations" paper is due into the high school office on
Friday, May 13th.

Attention students and staff who haven't already ordered a 2015-2016 yearbook:  The deadline to order a yearbook is Friday, May 13. Either order one online by visiting jostens.com, or bring a check in to Mrs. Lee, made out to Huron High School, for $65. 
7.  Attention Students:  Fisher-Titus Medical Center's Autism Spectrum Kids (ASK) Program and Pediatric Therapy Dept. are looking for committed volunteers to help with their annual summer programs for children with special needs. More information regarding programs, dates, and times, along with sign-up forms are available in the Guidance office.

8.  Interested in earning community service hours?  Admiral's Pointe is hosting a Prom for their Seniors on Thursday, May 12th from 6:30-8pm.  They would love for our students to dress up and show up for this special night.  There will be food and entertainment.   Stop into the high school office to sign up for this wonderful opportunity to make the night of a Senior Citizen special!!

9.  Huron Rotary's Interact Club is accepting membership application.  The Interact Club is trying to better the world through community and global projects.  If you are interested in joining, please pick up an application form in the office or contact Grace Moser for more information.  The forms are due back to the office by May 19, 2016.

10.  Attention all students: EHOVE Summer School applications are now available in the Guidance Office. Applications are available until classes are full or until June 10th. Please stop in if you are interested!

11.  If you are a student under the age of 18 and are planning on securing a summer job, you will need a work permit.  These are located outside the high school office.  There's a portion to be filled out by your parent, the employer and on the back is where you need a physician's signature stating you are able to perform the job.  The physician's signature is needed only if you DO NOT have a valid physical on file in the high school office already.  Once the form is completed, please drop that off to the high school office.  Usually the work permit (which you will need to sign) will be ready for you that afternoon or the following day.  Please plan accordingly.  Stop in with any questions.

12.  Attention all juniors, senior shirt orders will be taking place today through Friday during the lunch periods.  Student council will have a table set up where you can go give them the information that you want on your shirt.  Once you have your shirt ordered, then they will be able to calculate how much it will cost.  Money for the t-shirts are due this Friday, the 13th.  If you do not have a lunch period at the high school or cannot meet the money deadline, please see Riki Tanaka or Hannah Hastings.

13.  Lunch today is meat & cheese nachos or a Buffalo chicken wrap.
