ANNOUNCEMENTS - TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2016

1.  Teachers please remember to have your students vote this morning for Homecoming attendants during 1st period.  A student council member will be around at the end of the period to collect those ballots.

2. 
Attention upper class students interested in Model UN:  Final checks are due by the end of today.  Tonight's meeting is postponed in order to complete member selection.  The first meeting will be next Tuesday, Sept. 27.

3.  Attention girls basketball players:  Open gyms will be held from 1-2pm on Sundays at Woodlands gym.

4. 
Whirlpool Clyde Operations Manufacturing Career Exploration Day is open to students interested in exploring manufacturing careers on Saturday, October 15th from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Stop into the Guidance office for more information.

5.  On Saturday, September 24th from 9am-11am in the Cedar Point Center at BGSU Firelands, explore everything from nursing to social work, criminal justice to computer science, and much more.  Information sessions about college coursework and career paths will help you research your options.  College tours will be given, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discover your interests.  Whether you’re a future respiratory therapist, a potential artist, or completely undecided, the BGSU Firelands Career and Campus Visit Day will help you begin the process of choosing a major and selecting your career.

Any student who plans on bringing a guest from a different school to the Homecoming dance must get a packet from the office.  This packet must be filled out (signatures from guest principal and parents) and signed by the time you purchase the tickets.  This may take time to prepare so please plan in advance.  Tickets will go on sale Monday, 9/26, for a price of $10 each.

7.  New scholarship for Seniors: 
GROTH & ASSOCIATES SCHOLARSHIP Scholarship award of $1,000 available for seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or above along with a 500 word essay about difficulties or hardships you have had to personally overcome.  Qualifying students can apply at http://www.grothlaw.com/scholarship/ DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JUNE 1, 2017.

Attention any junior planning on going on the junior class trip: There is a mandatory informational meeting for you and a parent to attend on Sept. 28 at 5pm in the cafeteria.
9.  Attention Seniors in good standing: You may apply to work at the election polls on Tuesday, November 8.  Please see Mrs. Merckens in room 206 for an application and with any questions.

10.  Attention Students:  The following colleges/universities will be visiting the week of September 19th and sign-ups are available now in the Guidance office:

9/20 - University of Akron 10am
9/21 - University of Mount Union 8am
9/21 - Tiffin University 12:45pm
9/22 - University of Cincinnati 8:30am

Reminder:  Please sign up no later than the day before a visit to ensure you have reserved your spot!

Attention Students:  Kaman's Art Shoppes will be visiting during lunch periods Wednesday, September 21st.  If you are interested in photography and face painting, they are currently hiring artists and salespeople to work this fall in entry-level positions at Cedar Point.  Stop by their table during lunch for more information.

12.  Lunch today is pasta and meat sauce.
