ANNOUNCEMENTS - FRIDAY, JANUARY 6, 2017

1On Wednesday, the Tiger swim teams were in action at Margaretta.  The boys team raised their record to 5-1 with a 92-77 victory while the girls team slipped to 2-4 with a 99-86 loss.  Top performers were Derek Griffin, Rowan Roshong and Graeme Schwartz for the boys while Emma Golling, Melissa Wirtz, Julia Hastings and Samantha Rogers led the girls.

2Attention all students: Any 2nd semester schedule changes need to be made with Mrs. Fahr no later than Tuesday, Jan. 10th, by noon.  After the deadline, no changes will be permitted.

3. 
Attention all Seniors:  The deadline to turn in all community service hours is Friday, January 13th.  Remember you need 50 hours total and no more than 25 can come from sports.  Please turn in all hours to Mr. Munafo in the main office.  All completed forms are due to Mr. Munafo by 2:50pm on the 13th.  

4.  Any football player interested in helping to clean the weight room should report on Monday, January 9 at 4:30PM to help out.

5.  There is a need for a female tutor for a fourth grade girl who needs help with mathematics.  Please stop into the Guidance office if interested.

Baseball lifting starts Monday, Jan. 9th, right after school in the weight room.  Lifting will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday right after school.
     Baseball Open Gyms start Wednesday, Jan. 11th, at Woodlands.  Freshman and Sophomores at 7pm. Juniors and Seniors at 8pm.
     Open Gyms will be every Wednesday night and Saturday morning at 8am-10am.


7.  Attention Seniors:  Amcor Ridig Plastics, located in Bellevue will be hosting a job fair at their plant on Saturday, January 14.  They are expanding their production facility and will be hiring in February through July.  They offer a great benefit package along with 100% college tuition reimbursement to employees to help in their current and future positions.  If you are interested please contact Thomas Hall, HR Manager, @ 419-484-2121 or email www.amcor.com

8The Huron Public Library is teaming up with HHS to bring a teen book club to students in grades 9 through 12.  Meeting in the Tiger Union once a month after school, this hour-long book discussion group will cover various teen titles over a wide range of topics.  Each month's books can be delivered to the High School through the Tiger Book Shelf cooperation.  Registration is required. Check out huronlibrary.org or call 419-433-5009 for more info/to sign up!  The first meeting is Monday, January 9, at 2:30pm.

9.  The Air Force will be visiting January 10th at 9:00 a.m. in the Tiger Union.  Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.

10.  Navy ROTC: Attention Students:  Kelsey Ohm, a former HHS graduate and now midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at The George Washington University will be visiting Monday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tiger Union. She will be providing information about how you can apply for a 100% full tuition scholarship applicable for many schools, while explaining what ROTC is and sharing her own personal experiences.  Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.
