3/5-7/2007 ~ Went over the Constitution and the government's influence on the economy as well as how a bill becomes a law.
3/9/2007 ~ Students discussed and looked at websites pertaining to how the current debate in Congress concerning the Bipartisan Nonbinding Iraq War Resolution is an example of checks and balances in government.
3/12-13/2007 ~ Students prepared for an assessment covering the US Constitution, its amendments, ideas, economic references, as well as how a bill becomes a law.
3/14/2007 ~ Students worked in a group to complete an activity researching the different problems the American Republic experienced after passing the US Constitution.
3/15/2007 ~ Students took finished notes on major problems during the early years of the U.S. Republic.
3/19-20/2007 ~ Student worked on individual paragraphs focused on one of the reasons the first political parties originated in the United States.

3/21/2007 ~ Students tied up Chapter 9 by examining early problems with the New Republic as well as the first political parties. Paragraphs and illustration about the creation of the first political parties is due tomorrow.
3/22/2007 ~ Students who are absent are to read pages 284-285 in their textbook and answer the following question:
"What were the similarities and differences between the Whiskey Rebellion and Shays' Rebellion? Which rebellion do you believe to be more just? Why?"
3/23/2007 ~ Students completed notes on the Whiskey Rebellion and received a study guide for the history assessment, which will be next week Tuesday.
3/29/2007 ~ Below is posted a reading guide for chapter 12, sections 1 and 4 (not section 1 through 4). Read through the material and summarize the information for the reading guide questions.
3/30/2007 ~ Notes regarding Andrew Jackson's views on democracy and taking on the Second National Bank of the United States.
