Pi(3.14) ∏  day is coming

3/14

          Pi(3.14) ∏ day is Friday, March 14.  In honor of Pi day the symbol for Pi (∏ ) will be hidden all over the school.  If a student finds the Pi symbol they must take it to the nearest math teacher.  Their name will be entered in a drawing for a pie drawn 8th period.  Three pies in all will be given away.  The student may earn extra voting power if you do one of the items below each time they find a Pi symbol. 

Make or answer one of the following:

1-make a poster celebrating Pi(3.14) day.

2-wear a T-shirt with Pi (3.14) ∏ on it.

3-memorize Pi(3.14) to 12 or more digits.

4-what is the 314th digit of Pi

5-What famous mathematician’s birthday is also on Pi day.

6-who was closer to the true calculation of Pi, the Babylonians or the Egyptians?  What %?

7-what is the formula, using Pi for the Circumference

8- what is the formula, using Pi for the Area of a circle

9- what is the formula, using Pi for the Volume of a Cylinder.
